Work Experience
Nov 2010-July 2014 Sales Advisor, Hotel Chocolat
Dealing with customers both face-to-face and on the phone developed my communication
skills, allowing me to provide the correct information efficiently and professionally.
Helping in the training of new staff members meant I was taking responsibility for their
learning. Communicating instructions clearly was important, and I learned to trim the
information down to only what was relevant.
Responsibilitiesfor deliveries, stock management and housekeeping ensured I was planning
forward, helping myself and my colleagues work efficiently.
A heavy focus on customer happiness developed my customer service skills, for which the
store received many commending emails.

Volunteer Work
2013 SARbot UK
Activities involved assembling equipment and piloting the ROV in demonstrations.
Learning new songs for a charity gig within a short space of time meant I was working both
under pressure and to a tight deadline.

Key Skills
Teamwork
Duringmy firstyearof university,Itookpart inthe team-basedFLUXcompetition.Itwasvital
for eachindividual tohave a clearfocuswhichblendedseamlesslytogetherwhenassembled
as a whole.The competitionwasfast-pacedandsowe hadtoworkefficientlyunderpressure.
While we did not win the competition, we were praised for our efforts and learned the
importance of working together to complete difficult tasks.
Research
For my final year project, I am currently researching into how the bracing inside an acoustic
guitar affects its sound. This includes reading academic journals, analysing the information
and compilingitintoa clearand concise report.I have researchedhow the sound of a guitar
is produced, fromstring vibrationstoguitar body vibrations, andaim to furthermy research
by running computer simulations, comparing these results to a physical model.
Analytical

Leadership
I was the group leaderforthe designmodulesinbothyears. As well as contributingmyown

CAD & CFD
I have used CAD, primarily SolidWorks, extensivelyduring my time at university to create
parts, assemblies and drawings. I achieved 92% in the first year module, and have also used
CADto create modelsindesignmodulesforfirstandsecondyear.Inmythirdyear,Ihave also
learned how to use CFD, from creating a model and setting up a mesh, to running the
simulation and extracting results.
IT
Duringmy studiesIhave usedMicrosoftpackagesextensively.Withinthe range of modules,I
have had to use Excel to write up tablesand graphs and to performcalculations;Ihave used
PowerPointandMovie Makertodesignandcreate avideopresentation;Ihave usedWordto
write up reports, inputting diagrams, calculations and references.

Hobbies and Interests
I have beenplayingacoustic,electricandbassguitarsfor overtenyears,performinglivewith
these instruments. I have also started learning the keyboard in my spare time.
In 2013, a group of friendsandI attemptedthe three-peakchallenge.We climbedBenNevis,
Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon in just over 24 hours.
Other interests include: Music, Cooking, Reading, and Snowboarding.
