1. What is the American Heart Association?
The American Heart Association is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated
to lowering the amount of deaths each year that are caused by cardiovascular
diseases. The American Heart Association works towards this goal each year by
donating to heart disease research, creating awareness and education programs,
spreading lifesaving information to the public, and celebrating lives of those who
have survived heart disease.
The American Heart Association improves the lives of many people around
the world. The organization connects with people to emphasize the importance of a
healthy lifestyle, and also provides people with guidelines and goals to work
towards each day. As far as public education goes, the American Heart Association
is the country’s leader in CPR education training. As a nonprofit organization, the
company’s donations go towards innovative research, public healthy strategies, and
public health education seminars.
Since 1975, the American Heart Association’s headquarters has been located
in Dallas, Texas. There are also 144 small locations across the country in cities all
around from Memphis, Tenn. to Sacramento, Cal. The American Heart Association
employs nearly 2,700 employees across the United States. There are also an
estimated 22.5 million volunteers helping the American Heart Association
accomplish their mission.
