2. ¿Qué es “agudeza visual”?
La agudeza visual es el parámetro que evalúa la capacidad
del sistema visual para detectar y discriminar detalles de
un objeto.
La agudeza visual tiene dos mediciones:
•Agudeza visual lejana
•Agudeza visual cercana
La agudeza visual es una medida de la salud ocular. Muchas
condiciones médicas pueden llevar a la pérdida total/parcial
de la visión. Y se asocia a errores de refracción, pero siempre
es así y existen diversas enfermedades oculares que pueden
afectar a este parámetro de agudeza visual.

4. Lo que se consigue con este examen ocular es medir la agudeza
visual de los niños. Puede realizarse en edades muy tempranas y
las garantías de éxito en el diagnóstico son elevadas.

6. Test de SNELLEN
Se conoce como E de Snellen a otro
test visual, especialmente indicado
para la población infantil. El
procedimiento del examen
oftalmológico es similar al que se lleva
a cabo con el Test de Pigassou, pero
en este caso, en vez de varias figuras
diferentes, solo se muestra la letra “E”
al niño.
