3. Medical bills can quickly take a toll on a family’s finances Reports show that nearly 6 in 10 workers don’t have a plan in place to handle the unexpected (source: 2013 Aflac Work Forces Report) Many would need to borrow from other sources such as savings or credit cards

Regardless of major medical coverage, 1 in 3 still have difficulty paying medical bills A study by the Kaiser Family Foundation, shows the vast majority of people with medical debt are insured 1 in 3 have difficulty paying their medical bills, regardless of major medical coverage In 2012, the majority of people with difficulty paying medical bills had employer-sponsored private insurance (ESI)
