Commodity platforms established through public-private partnerships in Ethiopia help integrate actors along agricultural value chains. The platforms bring together farmers, input suppliers, processors, marketers and other stakeholders to share knowledge, address challenges, and create business opportunities. This helps spur economic growth by building partnerships that benefit smallholder producers. The platforms also help boost smallholder confidence in establishing business relationships. LIVES gender equality strategy

WMRAS - A SUGGESTION
A brand led approach is being taken to build a world class waste management industry in Singapore using superior technology and practices. The Waste Management and Recycling Association of Singapore (WMRAS) brand is evolving with its brand identity, platform, and campaign being developed. While progress has been made, consolidating information on one website and extending the brand's reach is important. Going forward, WMRAS must project strengths in education, certification, technical excellence, and empowering its membership through robust stakeholder engagement.
Inter-Regional Cooperation, FARA/AARINENA
FARA outlines opportunities for collaboration between itself and other regional agricultural organizations. It has reorganized its work into 5 networking functions and developed a 5-year operational plan. Key areas for potential partnership include strengthening agricultural advisory services, increasing access to knowledge and technologies, harmonizing biotechnology policies, and building human and institutional capacity. FARA believes establishing collaborative platforms is an effective way to advance inter-regional cooperation and welcomes strengthening its existing partnership with AARINENA.

IAR4D and benefits and ARC

Nine pilot projects are testing the IAR4D framework across three regions of Sub-Saharan Africa. The goals are to generate international public goods, improve benefits to end users over conventional approaches, and assess sustainability and scalability. Key principles include addressing both technical and institutional constraints holistically, and establishing innovation platforms to jointly identify problems and solutions through iterative learning and reflection.
