This document contains summaries of multiple advertisements, including:
- An advert by the humanist society of Santa Barbara intended to show that God is not important to humanists, which some religious people may find controversial or offensive.
- An advert by Lifebuoy hand wash to promote hand washing after touching animals, which some animal rights activists may dispute due to its portrayal of a dog as a piece of bread.
- An advert by the Child Health Foundation to discourage smoking around children using the image of a haloed child, which some bereaved parents could find offensive due to its emotional imagery.
- An advert by Just Liquid hand wash showing the spread of bacteria from unwashed hands using images of
SMC Capitals Equity head Jagannadham Thuguntla said: "The market is showing signs of fatigue because of valuation concerns; besides, there is a apprehension that the budget may not have that many sweeteners." Market sentiment also was adversely affected by sustained pullout by foreign institutional investors, which were believed to be aggressive sellers during the day.

1. This advert was made by the
humanist society of Santa
Barbara. The purpose is to
make people see that God is
not important to strong
humanists. Could be seen as
controversial because of the
message it is giving, people
who believe in God would
probably take this to heart. As
it gives the impression that
religion should be something
that no one worries about.
In my opinion I don’t think it is
offensive, but I am not
religious, to religious people it
will have hit a lot harder.
what is the purpose? why?
considered controversial? By
who?
Is offensive, why? why not?
2. This was made by
Lifebuoy a hand wash
company. The purpose
is to persuade people to
wash their hands after
touching animals. It
could be classed as
controversial because of
people who vote for
animal rights. Showing a
dog as a piece of bread
means animal rights
activists will complain
against it.
I find this advert quite
controversial because of
the fact that many
people have strong
beliefs against animal
cruelty and the way
they should be treated.
3. This advert was made by the
Child Health Foundation, in order
to persuade people not to
smoke, especially around
children. This could be classed as
controversial because of the
imagery of the halo on such a
young child on the poster,
parents who have lost children
would find this poster
particularly offensive.
I do find this advert offensive
because of the imagery being
used, and the fact that the child
is dressed to look as innocent as
possible, makes the message of
the advert hit people harder.
4. This advert is published by Just
Liquid, a hand wash company.
The purpose of this advert is to
show the bacteria on
someone’s hand if you do not
wash it.
This however could be
controversial as it is showing a
very sick man being made
progressively worse. This
reflects badly on the hospitals
as it makes it look as though
nurses do not wash their hands
while treating patients.
I find this advert quite
controversial because of the
strong imagery used against
the hospital and also victims of
disease.
5. This advert was created by
Volkswagen Touran, to advertise
the spaciousness of their new car
ranges.
It shows however an elephant
being tied up in not very good
conditions, this means that this
advert could be offensive to animal
rights activists, as some elephants
really are kept in these conditions,
this therefore makes the advert
controversial to anyone who
believes in animal rights.
I do not find this advert that
offensive, as I believe it is just
light-hearted, however I can see
why some people may feel
offended by the image shown.
6. This advert was made by Amnesty
International, to show the fact that
domestic violence is still a big
theme, running through
relationships.
This could be seen as offensive
however from victims of domestic
violence, who will see this image as
something not to be taken lightly
and to be shown on a catwalk or an
advert. It also means that men see
this as something which is being
seen as acceptable on the fashion
scene.
I find this advert controversial
because of the images that are used,
and the fact that they are very
violent.
