An engineer monitored concrete pouring activities at a construction site. M&K Concrete placed 49.5 cubic yards of concrete for a floor slab, then 5 cubic yards for a stairway pad. Later, they placed 20 cubic yards for columns and walls, and 30 cubic yards for footers. Samples were taken and cured for compressive strength testing to ensure the concrete met specifications.

Detailed Description of Work Performed and/or Observed:
A representative of Advantage Engineers, LLC (Advantage) was on site to monitor construction activities at the
above referenced project site.
Concrete Construction:
Upon arrival, M&K Concrete (M&K) was preparing to place approximately forty-nine and half (49.5) cubic yards of
4,000-psi air-entrained concrete for the floor slab of residential living section-C (See Sketch Below – Not to
Scale).
Pennsy Supply first truck #6128 carrying 10 yards on ticket #46915052 arrived on site around approximately 7:40
am with discharge at 7:48. One (1) set (set-87) of five (5) concrete cylinders was cast for unconfined compressive
strength testing (UCS) in accordance with applicable ASTM and ACI standards.
Upon completion of the floor slab, M&K Concrete (M&K) began to place approximately five (5) cubic yards of
3,000-psi small aggregate concrete for the stairway pad of residential living section-A form the third floor to the
top (See Sketch Below – Not to Scale).
A Pennsy Supply truck #6099 carrying the new mixture of five (5) yards on ticket #46914070 arrived on site
around approximately 10:23 am with discharge at 10:30. One (1) set (set-88) of five (5) concrete cylinders was
cast for unconfined compressive strength testing (UCS) in accordance with applicable ASTM and ACI standards.
Upon completion of the stairway pad, M&K Concrete (M&K) began to place approximately twenty (20) cubic yards
of 4,500-psi air-entrained concrete for column 30-w-y wall, 28-w-y wall, y- 28-27, v-30, u.8-32, A.04-23,
and A.03-22 (See Sketch Below – Not to Scale).
A Pennsy Supply truck #7133 carrying the new mixture of nine and a half (9.5) yards on ticket #46914081 arrived
on site around approximately 12:23 pm with discharge at 12:30. One (1) set (set-89) of five (5) concrete cylinders
was cast for unconfined compressive strength testing (UCS) in accordance with applicable ASTM and ACI
standards.

Upon completion of the columns and shear walls, M&K Concrete (M&K) began to place approximately thirty (30)
cubic yards of 3000-psi air-entrained concrete for northwest stairwell footers of the enhanced living foundation
(See site plan below).
A Pennsy Supply truck #7160 carrying the new mixture of nine and a half (9.5) yards on ticket #46914098 arrived
on site around approximately 2:41 pm with discharge at 2:48. One (1) set (set-90) of five (5) concrete cylinders
was cast for unconfined compressive strength testing (UCS) in accordance with applicable ASTM and ACI
standards.
The lab cured specimens will be tested on the following schedule:
 One (1) at seven (7) days.
 Three (3) at twenty-eight (28) days.
 One (1) to be held.

under a separate cover.
