Adult education is a practice in
which adults engage in systematic
and sustained self-educating
activities in order to gain new
forms of knowledge, skills,
attitudes, or values.
4. DEFINITION
Adult learning is defined as ‘the entire range of
formal, non-formal and informal learning activities
which are undertaken by adults after a break since
leaving initial education and training, and which
results in the acquisition of new knowledge and skills.
7. NEEDSAND IMPORTANCE
To wider intellectual horizon of partially illiterate
adults.
To broaden the political horizon of the adults as
value if vote.
To train the adult in cooperative living.
It encourages for continuing education.
