political, social and economic scene.

This report is a synthesis of the ideas generated from a day-long design charrette in June 2011, and represents the community’s vision for a new waterfront open space. MAS released the report to the NYC Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and their consultant for the project, AECOM, with the intention of guiding the future transformation of the former Con Ed Pier into a new community park.
This is the turning point for waterfront access along the East Side of Midtown and is a continuation of MAS’ long standing commitment to bringing New Yorkers back to the waterfront and ensuring that the communities have a voice in shaping their future.
On April 4th, the Anacostia Waterfront Trust held a public forum about the Future of the Anacostia Waterfront in partnership with the Committee of 100 on the Federal City and with opening remarks by Former Mayor Anthony Williams, Office of Planning's Tracy Gabriel and the National Park Service's Supt. Tara Morrison.

Ken Greenberg walks us through the history of Ontario Place, including the original vision, how Ontario Place lost its way by trying to focus on being a moneymaker, to the modern day vision of Ontario Place and why we must protect the vision of an Ontario Place for All.

That dollar amount has been quantified….go into STRATUM And then end on the ads for High Line and McCarren that even new development or renovations show that parks are of good economic value. Think we need a better ending…
