Order of Adjectives
We often use more than one adjective to describe a
noun, and when we do, there is a proper order for the
adjectives. The table below shows the proper order in
which you
should put adjectives before a noun.

adjectives in the proper order. Choose the correct order for
the adjectives below.

Ordering Adjectives
Adjectives go before nouns. But did you know that when you have
more than one adjective, that they must go in a particular order?
The list below shows what order you should put adjectives in
within a sentence, and provides examples.
1. Number (one)
2. Opinion (beautiful)
3. Size (big)
4. Shape (flat)
5. Age (new)
6. Condition (immaculate)
7. Color (green)
8. Pattern (striped
9. Origin (Egyptian)
10. Material (cotton)
11 Purpose (bed)
12. Noun: sheet
Sentence: My mother gave me one beautiful, big, flat, new,
immaculate, green, striped, Egyptian cotton bed sheet.
Directions: Read each sentence. Are the adjectives in the correct
order?If yes, write Y on the line. If no, write N on the line.
