The document describes the ADEQUATe project, which aims to improve the quality of open data through data monitoring, knowledge management, quality assessment, and community involvement. The project has three partners: Semantic Web Company, Danube University Krems, and University of Economics Vienna. By mid-2018, the project will deliver a final ADEQUATe platform to monitor and assess open data quality, link datasets, and enable community feedback, helping to improve the integration and value of open data. A beta version of the platform was launched in December 2017.
OpenAIRE has created Open Science monitoring and implementation services for the European Commission and European Research Council in the FP7 and Horizon2020 funding streams. OpenAIRE produces a 360-degree picture of the impact of research funding, whether at the level of programme funding stream or even individual projects. So, now, in real-time, funders can monitor their investment making an impact through the OpenAIRE Funder Monitoring Dashboard which provides funders with tools for a transparent view and assessment of their investments.

OCEAN - support for Open Cloud projects, Yuri Glikman, Fraunhofer FOKUSOW2
The fundamental goal of OCEAN (http://www.ocean-project.eu) is to foster the emergence of a sustainable open source cloud ecosystem in Europe, by generating greater efficiency among collaborative research projects on open source cloud computing. OCEAN is maintaining an online directory of FLOSS outcomes of cloud projects (www.ocdirectory.org). The project is working provide a functional mapping of these outcomes, in relation with key standards and reference models from leading standardization organizations such as NIST, ETSI, DMTF, OGF, in what we call an Open Cloud Interoperability Framework and Roadmap. OCEAN supports projects by providing an online service, based on the ETICS framework enabling open cloud projects to build, test and check the quality of their software, including interoperability testing and compliance to cloud standards. Finally, OCEAN is organising Plugfests to foster cooperation and integration between projects.
PTCRIS (Portuguese Current Research Information System) is a program, officially initiated in May 2014, which aims to ensure the creation and sustained development of a national integrated information ecosystem, to support research management according to the best international standards and practices. One of PTCRIS' goals is to reduce the burden of research output management, by adopting an "input once, re-use often" principle.
PTCRISync is a synchronization framework developed in this context, that relies on ORCID - a community-based service that aims to provide a registry of unique researcher identifiers (an ORCID iD) and a method of linking research outputs to these identifiers, based on data collected from external sources - as a central hub for information exchange between the various national systems (including CV management systems such as DeGóis, open access repositories such as RCAAP or SARI, and local CRIS systems) and international systems (WoK, Scopus, Datacite, etc), that shall enable researchers (or managers) to register once a given research output at one of the interconnected national systems, and automatically propagate that output to the remaining ones, thus ensuring global consistency of the stored information.
The main challenge in the design of this framework stems from fundamental differences between the data model of ORCID and that of most CRIS services. The specified synchronization framework operates at the user profile level, that is, it synchronizes user profiles from different CRIS services with the corresponding user profile from ORCID. The effective synchronization procedures are designed to keep the user profiles at ORCID and CRIS synchronized according to well-defined consistency constraints, and satisfy several "well-behavedness" properties, such as correctness or stability. A user interface to act as a front-end for these synchronization procedures is also proposed by PTCRISync.

Trust is built based on guarantees, previous successful experiences, transparency and accountability. Yet, to-date, the technologies and frameworks necessary to raise confidence on cloud and Big Data applications is still lacking. It is crucial to create this confidence to encourage different business sectors to take up this technology and ultimately improve business efficiency and competitiveness. The ATMOSPHERE project focuses on this issue.
ATMOSPHERE will provide a solution to assess trustworthiness of cloud applications dealing with data and support the development of more trustworthy cloud applications.
Goal
Provide a solution to assess trustworthiness of cloud applications dealing with data and support the development of more trustworthy cloud applications

f you offer a service on the web, odds are that someone will abuse it. Be it an API, a SaaS, a PaaS, or even a static website, someone somewhere will try to figure out a way to use it to their own needs. In this talk we'll compare measures that are effective against static attackers and how to battle a dynamic attacker who adapts to your counter-measures.

This presentation, created by Syed Faiz ul Hassan, explores the profound influence of media on public perception and behavior. It delves into the evolution of media from oral traditions to modern digital and social media platforms. Key topics include the role of media in information propagation, socialization, crisis awareness, globalization, and education. The presentation also examines media influence through agenda setting, propaganda, and manipulative techniques used by advertisers and marketers. ADEQUATe Open Data: Analytics & Data Enrichment to improve
the QUAliTy of Open Data builds on two observations:
An increasing amount of Open Data becomes available as an important resource for emerging businesses and further
on the integration of such open, freely re-usable data sources into organisations’ data warehouse and data management
systems is seen as a key success factor for competitive advantages in a data-driven economy.
The project now identifies crucial issues which have to be tackled to fully exploit the value of open data and the efficient
integration with other data sources:
● the overall quality issues with metadata and the data itself
● the lack of interoperability between data sources
The project's approach is to address this points already in an early stage – when the open data is freshly provided by either
governmental organisations or others.
