As we settle into our cooler weather routines and
look forward to the holiday season, my mind turns
to gratitude.
Throughout the past few years, much
has changed - for all of us. We’ve
wrestled a great many personal
struggles as our lives were all forced
to adjust to a global situation no one
was prepared for - but here we are and
I am so filled with gratitude.
With so much support from our
phenomenal community, we continue
to serve through every challenge
because serving this community
means everything. Our return to our
Summer Camp programs this year was
joyous not only for all of us at Adam’s
Camp, as we had sorely missed our
campers and families, but also for
everyone in our community who lends

ADAM'S CAMP COLORADO
GOALS-BASED
INDIVIDUALIZED THERAPY
GAIN INDEPENDENCE &
SOCIAL CONNECTIONS
Our Mountain Therapy Camp is an opportunity for children
and youth, ranging from age 5 and up, to spend a week
engaging in fun activities, goals-based individualized
therapy, and interacting in social settings.
This year, camp may have begun with a few hiccups, but
with resilience, perseverance, and teamwork there was
nothing we couldn't overcome! Campers and staff all had
an amazing time and cannot wait for next year!
As we plan for 2023, we're actively recruiting at local
college job fairs as well as Colorado therapy chapters,
building out new processes and procedures, and
spreading the word about Adam’s Camp.
2022 Summer Camp Recap
Every Summer, Adam’s Camp hosts six weeks' worth of camp
experiences for children, youth, and adults with disabilities.
Adventure Camp is a six-day sleep-away camp
experience (Sunday-Friday). This camp experience is
designed for co-ed activities. Campers lodge onsite at
Snow Mountain Ranch (in Granby, CO) in cabins
provided by the YMCA of the Rockies.
This year, camp was a whirlwind of excitement,
adventures, and emotions all summer long. The best
part of our jobs is helping campers gain independence
and watching them build social connections and
friendships over the course of each week. So many
are already excited to come back next year and 2023
brings new opportunities for growth and making new
friends, so we are all pretty excited!

Camper Spotlight:
Noah
Adam's Camp has been a part of my life for
longer than I can remember. The very first
Adam's Camp stories I recall are ones told to
me, rather than my own memories. My brother,
Erik, who has Down syndrome attended Early
Start. Adam's Camp has been a part of our
lives from then on. Some of my favorite
summer memories are of volunteering, and
later becoming a counselor for the adventure
programs.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of
experiencing almost all of the impactful
programs of Adam’s Camp.
When Noah, who also has Down syndrome,
joined our family by adoption in November of
2021, I couldn't wait for him to experience
Adam’s Camp.
We signed him up for Early Start and it did not
disappoint. Noah made amazing progress
toward his goal at the time: sitting
independently. He sat supported by his hands
for the very first time while at Adam's Camp,
and his progress took off from there. As
parents, we learned how to support him in his
goals, and what we learned shaped how his
day-to-day early intervention therapists
worked with him.
I am grateful to have experienced the joy of
Adam's Camp through so many lenses - a
sibling, a volunteer, a counselor, and now a
parent. Each experience solidifies my
conviction that the newest member of our
family will be an Adam's Camper for life.

“Without the scholarship we received, our
son would have never had the opportunity to
attend Adam’s Camp. We had no idea how
much stress we were holding inside at drop
off for regular school activities until we
didn’t experience it when we dropped him
off at Adam’s Camp. We knew he would feel
heard and seen and we could all fully enjoy
the experience. Thank you so much for this
opportunity!” - Camper Parent
With the support from sponsors, partners,
grants, and donors like you, Adam's Camp
was able to provide financial assistance to
104 camper families this year, totaling
$87,000 in scholarship awards!

more, than our camper. The relationships and
partnerships built with other families will last a lifetime!”

Hello, I’m Lauren Polak (camper parent and
board member). I'd like to share with you a little
about my incredible daughter, Greyson.
When Greyson was about 6 months old, her
pediatrician ordered an EEG and we found out
that she was having constant seizures in her
sleep. She had Epilepsy.
Her neurologist ordered a full panel genetic
test, MRI, and several other tests to explore a
potential underlying issue. Greyson has a
neurodevelopmental disorder called Duplication
15q Syndrome and was later diagnosed with
autism spectrum disorder at the age of 2.
I was constantly in search of what else I could
do to help her. One of our OTs recommended
we look into Adam’s Camp, where she had
previously volunteered.
One week of camp and I knew we would forever
be a part of the Adam’s Camp community. The
resources they provide go so far beyond your
typical camp experience. Their team is truly
dedicated to helping families.
Greyson is now 6 and we continue to support
her in every way possible. I’m certain the more
we do now will give her an even brighter future.
We revel in her progress every day.
I’m incredibly grateful we found Adam’s Camp.
Even as stress mounts and I worry about big
looming questions, I know Greyson will thrive at
camp every summer and make new friends.
It is hard to imagine what this journey would
look like if we hadn’t found Adam’s Camp.

“Adam's Camp is simply W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L!!! My
daughter has Down Syndrome and has been going
to Adam's Camp every summer for 20 years! She
starts talking about going to next summer as soon
as she comes home from camp! The staff and
volunteers are absolutely great. They love her and
she loves each of them. Such a fantastic
organization.”
“Adam's Camp has exceeded all expectations that I had my first year volunteering. As a volunteer, I have
learned and gained so much from the Adam's Camp community! I now have life-long friends and a second
home thanks to Adam's Camp. As a volunteer, I have seen how this camp is beneficial to everyone involved:
campers, volunteers, counselors, and therapists. Everyone is learning from each other and gains new insight
into life every week at camp. The gains that therapy sees in all five disciplines are unheard of and are what
makes Adam's Camp's therapy program so unique. Meanwhile, adventure camp is increasing independence
and creating this community of acceptance and understanding. I have definitely learned so much from my
time at Adam's Camp and I have seen so much progress being made, that I know their programming is
effective and has long-lasting impacts.”
“Adam's Camp has been such an amazing experience for me. When I
lived on the east coast I worked at a camp similar to Adam's Camp, and
when I moved to Colorado I wanted to find something like it, and am so
lucky to have come across Adam's Camp! I was a counselor at a fall
weekend retreat, and now am the president of the Young Professionals
Board for Adam's Camp where we put together events for campers, their
families and our own colleagues for times when camp isn't in session.
Could not recommend Adam's Camp and the incredible staff more!”

“My son demonstrates a level of courage I don't see in our everyday lives.
He cannot swim and is terrified in deep water, but he gets in the pool with
his buddies and into the kayak on the open water. He is deeply afraid of
heights, but he loves the Alpine Slide and was even willing to try the ropes
course (low level) when his friends did. He talks about activities such as
archery and minigolf as favorite activities - even though we never do
them at home. Adam's Camp not only lets him be brave, it broadens his
horizons as to what is possible.”
With our expanding list of sponsors, our goal for 2023 is to reach greater
heights than ever before to ensure that our community – and our ability
to serve them – continues to grow! Help us make a difference!

Did you know that thousands of companies
make matching gifts to charitable organizations
on behalf of their employees? It is often part of
the employee benefits package companies offer
(like paid volunteer hours) and is tied to the
overall philanthropic Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) practices.
Ask your Human Resources department for
information on how gifts can be matched. If they
don’t currently participate in Matching Gifts, ask
about their policy and encourage them to start
the process.

There are many ways to support Adam's Camp! While
getting involved does require some setup time, the payoff
for our campers is priceless.
Getting Involved
"The most significant impact Adam’s
Camp has on our son is that he feels
connected to a community. He is also
less stressed and enjoys the entire week.
For him it is an incredible vacation and
he loves the people he meets. While that
community is for just one week each
year, memories are created that prolong
his happiness and the positive feelings
he experiences as a result of Adam’s
Camp. Our son comes home from
Adam’s Camp more alive - more
animated and excited about everything."

In-Kind Donations are non-cash gifts made to a nonprofit organization.
This can include goods, services, time, and expertise.
Adam’s Camp hosts both silent and live auctions at some of our larger
annual events i.e. our Classic Golf Tournament and Annual Dinner.
These auctions are most successful when we receive donations from
community businesses and our families. If you have a skill or item(s)
of value, consider a donation.
Some Ideas:
If you have a personal connection with any local businesses, ask them
if they would be interested in donating to an Adam’s Camp auction.
AmazonSmile donates 0.5% of your eligible purchases to a
nonprofit of your choice. Select purchases made via
www.smile.amazon.com or through AmazonSmile activated in
the Amazon Shopping app can add up for Adam's Camp!
King Soopers also donates a percentage of proceeds directly to
Adam's Camp when selected as the chosen nonprofit. How it
works: go to www.kingsoopers.com and log in, or create an
account. Go to "My Account", scroll down to "Community
Rewards", and select AC as your organization. It's a great way
to help Adams Camp at no cost to you!

Throughout the past few years, much has changed - for all of us. We’ve wrestled a great many personal struggles as our lives were all forced to adjust to a global situation no one was prepared for - but here we are and I am so filled with gratitude. With so much support from our phenomenal community, we continue to serve through every challenge because serving this community means everything. Our return to our Summer Camp programs this year was joyous not only for all of us at Adam’s Camp, as we had sorely missed our campers and families, but also for everyone in our community who lends A Message from the Executive Director LettersfromCamp LettersfromCamp Dear Friends, 5 Brian Conly Executive Director Serving Adam's Camp since 2021 ADAM'S CAMP COLORADO
  • 2. GOALS-BASED INDIVIDUALIZED THERAPY GAIN INDEPENDENCE & SOCIAL CONNECTIONS Our Mountain Therapy Camp is an opportunity for children and youth, ranging from age 5 and up, to spend a week engaging in fun activities, goals-based individualized therapy, and interacting in social settings. This year, camp may have begun with a few hiccups, but with resilience, perseverance, and teamwork there was nothing we couldn't overcome! Campers and staff all had an amazing time and cannot wait for next year! As we plan for 2023, we're actively recruiting at local college job fairs as well as Colorado therapy chapters, building out new processes and procedures, and spreading the word about Adam’s Camp. 2022 Summer Camp Recap Every Summer, Adam’s Camp hosts six weeks' worth of camp experiences for children, youth, and adults with disabilities. Adventure Camp is a six-day sleep-away camp experience (Sunday-Friday). This camp experience is designed for co-ed activities. Campers lodge onsite at Snow Mountain Ranch (in Granby, CO) in cabins provided by the YMCA of the Rockies. This year, camp was a whirlwind of excitement, adventures, and emotions all summer long. The best part of our jobs is helping campers gain independence and watching them build social connections and friendships over the course of each week. So many are already excited to come back next year and 2023 brings new opportunities for growth and making new friends, so we are all pretty excited! PAGE | 02 NOVEMBER 2022 "Definite impact. It is the only camp he has attended that we feel 100% confident that he can be successful in participation, enjoyment and gain some independence skills as well.” "The challenges our families face on a daily basis are honored at Adam's Camp and we have the space to breathe knowing our children are in THE BEST care possible having a wonderful camp experience.”

  • 5. Camper Spotlight: Noah Adam's Camp has been a part of my life for longer than I can remember. The very first Adam's Camp stories I recall are ones told to me, rather than my own memories. My brother, Erik, who has Down syndrome attended Early Start. Adam's Camp has been a part of our lives from then on. Some of my favorite summer memories are of volunteering, and later becoming a counselor for the adventure programs. Over the years, I've had the privilege of experiencing almost all of the impactful programs of Adam’s Camp. When Noah, who also has Down syndrome, joined our family by adoption in November of 2021, I couldn't wait for him to experience Adam’s Camp. We signed him up for Early Start and it did not disappoint. Noah made amazing progress toward his goal at the time: sitting independently. He sat supported by his hands for the very first time while at Adam's Camp, and his progress took off from there. As parents, we learned how to support him in his goals, and what we learned shaped how his day-to-day early intervention therapists worked with him. I am grateful to have experienced the joy of Adam's Camp through so many lenses - a sibling, a volunteer, a counselor, and now a parent. Each experience solidifies my conviction that the newest member of our family will be an Adam's Camper for life. NOVEMBER 2022 PAGE | 05 Adam's Camp Scholarship Program Young Noah playing with bunnies in our Early Start Program 2022 “Without the scholarship we received, our son would have never had the opportunity to attend Adam’s Camp. We had no idea how much stress we were holding inside at drop off for regular school activities until we didn’t experience it when we dropped him off at Adam’s Camp. We knew he would feel heard and seen and we could all fully enjoy the experience. Thank you so much for this opportunity!” - Camper Parent With the support from sponsors, partners, grants, and donors like you, Adam's Camp was able to provide financial assistance to 104 camper families this year, totaling $87,000 in scholarship awards!
  • 6. PAGE | 06 NOVEMBER 2022 “Adam's Camp impacted us as parents as much, if not more, than our camper. • 7. Hello, I’m Lauren Polak (camper parent and board member). I'd like to share with you a little about my incredible daughter, Greyson. When Greyson was about 6 months old, her pediatrician ordered an EEG and we found out that she was having constant seizures in her sleep. She had Epilepsy. Her neurologist ordered a full panel genetic test, MRI, and several other tests to explore a potential underlying issue. Greyson has a neurodevelopmental disorder called Duplication 15q Syndrome and was later diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder at the age of 2. I was constantly in search of what else I could do to help her. One of our OTs recommended we look into Adam’s Camp, where she had previously volunteered. One week of camp and I knew we would forever be a part of the Adam’s Camp community. The resources they provide go so far beyond your typical camp experience. Their team is truly dedicated to helping families. Greyson is now 6 and we continue to support her in every way possible. I’m certain the more we do now will give her an even brighter future. We revel in her progress every day. I’m incredibly grateful we found Adam’s Camp. Even as stress mounts and I worry about big looming questions, I know Greyson will thrive at camp every summer and make new friends. It is hard to imagine what this journey would look like if we hadn’t found Adam’s Camp. Lauren and Greyson Polak at the YMCA Snow Mountain Ranch Mountain Therapy Camp 2022 Don't want to miss out on the excitement? • 8. From A Parent From A Volunteer “Adam's Camp is simply W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L!!! My daughter has Down Syndrome and has been going to Adam's Camp every summer for 20 years! She starts talking about going to next summer as soon as she comes home from camp! The staff and volunteers are absolutely great. They love her and she loves each of them. Such a fantastic organization.” “Adam's Camp has exceeded all expectations that I had my first year volunteering. As a volunteer, I have learned and gained so much from the Adam's Camp community! I now have life-long friends and a second home thanks to Adam's Camp. As a volunteer, I have seen how this camp is beneficial to everyone involved: campers, volunteers, counselors, and therapists. Everyone is learning from each other and gains new insight into life every week at camp. The gains that therapy sees in all five disciplines are unheard of and are what makes Adam's Camp's therapy program so unique. Meanwhile, adventure camp is increasing independence and creating this community of acceptance and understanding. I have definitely learned so much from my time at Adam's Camp and I have seen so much progress being made, that I know their programming is effective and has long-lasting impacts.” “Adam's Camp has been such an amazing experience for me. When I lived on the east coast I worked at a camp similar to Adam's Camp, and when I moved to Colorado I wanted to find something like it, and am so lucky to have come across Adam's Camp! I was a counselor at a fall weekend retreat, and now am the president of the Young Professionals Board for Adam's Camp where we put together events for campers, their families and our own colleagues for times when camp isn't in session. Could not recommend Adam's Camp and the incredible staff more!” From Our Young Professionals Board PAGE | 08 NOVEMBER 2022

He cannot swim and is terrified in deep water, but he gets in the pool with his buddies and into the kayak on the open water. He is deeply afraid of heights, but he loves the Alpine Slide and was even willing to try the ropes course (low level) when his friends did. He talks about activities such as archery and minigolf as favorite activities - even though we never do them at home. • 12. Did you know that thousands of companies make matching gifts to charitable organizations on behalf of their employees? It is often part of the employee benefits package companies offer (like paid volunteer hours) and is tied to the overall philanthropic Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices. Ask your Human Resources department for information on how gifts can be matched. If they don’t currently participate in Matching Gifts, ask about their policy and encourage them to start the process. YOU COULD FUNDRAISE FOR ADAM'S CAMP ORGANIZATIONS OFFERING MATCHING GIFTS FOR EMPLOYEES Set up your own Fundraiser Web Page via ColoradoGives.org Create a Facebook Fundraiser for Adam’s Camp Share to all of your social media accounts Send emails to friends, family, and community members who may be interested in donating or starting their own campaign Setting up your own fundraising campaign to support Adam’s Camp is a great way to show your support. In fact, socially leveraged campaigns are also a wonderful way to spread the word and get more people involved in the effort. PAGE | 12 NOVEMBER 2022 There are many ways to support Adam's Camp! While getting involved does require some setup time, the payoff for our campers is priceless. Getting Involved "The most significant impact Adam’s Camp has on our son is that he feels connected to a community. He is also less stressed and enjoys the entire week. For him it is an incredible vacation and he loves the people he meets. While that community is for just one week each year, memories are created that prolong his happiness and the positive feelings he experiences as a result of Adam’s Camp. Our son comes home from Adam’s Camp more alive - more animated and excited about everything."

This can include goods, services, time, and expertise. Adam’s Camp hosts both silent and live auctions at some of our larger annual events i.e. our Classic Golf Tournament and Annual Dinner. These auctions are most successful when we receive donations from community businesses and our families. If you have a skill or item(s) of value, consider a donation. Some Ideas: If you have a personal connection with any local businesses, ask them if they would be interested in donating to an Adam’s Camp auction. AmazonSmile donates 0.5% of your eligible purchases to a nonprofit of your choice. Select purchases made via www.smile.amazon.com or through AmazonSmile activated in the Amazon Shopping app can add up for Adam's Camp!
