7. Background: We received messages via ACVoSA WhatsApp group telling us that there is an
engagement which is going to be held on the Saturday of 23 July 2016. The event was going
to take place at Malamulele Hospital and it was confirmed that we will leave the campus at
8:30 am and those who were sure that they will go to the engagement where supposed to
confirm their availability to executive members via WhatsApp to know the exact number of
members who will attend the event and to organize a transport.
8. Description of what really happened: The engagement was facilitated by Mr. Ngonyama
T.T (Chairperson) and we sang the National Anthem (NkosiSikeleli Africa)as opening remarks.
One of the staff members of Malamulele Hospital welcomed ACVoSA members, Students of
EPP Mhinga Secondary School, and everyone who attended the event. The Attendance
Register was circulating around for people to sign and everyone introduces him/her-self.
Mabasa V.E introduced the business of the day whereby he presented the main aim of the
event.
a) Cleaning the Wards: Staff members collaborated ACVoSA members and EPP Mhinga Sec
School students and divided them into groups of five to cleaning children wards floor,
windows, cupboards, walls, bathrooms, packing clothes and blankets, stock taking of
medication, distributing lunch to patients and packing new medication stock to honour and
salute the great works of South African “Giant” Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.
b) Activities with Children: we manage to hand-over the playing toys to children in the
hospital but we did not engage in activities due to flying of time.
c) Career Guidance and Motivation: ACVoSA Member diffused different kinds of motivation
to the EPP Mhinga Sec School students due to what they experienced at the University. Career
exhibition was facilitated by Ngonyama T.T (Chairperson) and Mphego M.M was operating
Media equipment to display/visualize University of Venda prospector.

Way forward: Shabani M emphasis the issue of Mid-year Report that those who did not
submit should submit in order for them to obtain participation at the end of the year and
those who went to Khubvi engagement should sustain the agreement.
Vote of thanks and announcements were done by Malamulele Staff Members
Closing Remarks were done by a Student from EPP Mhinga Sec School through Prayer.
9. What where the main results?
The engagement was facilitated well and we achieve almost every business of the
engagement.
10. Discussion
A) What was done well?
Every activities were successful done and people where gratified and happy of every activity
that was done during the engagement.
b) What lessons were learnt/ aspects appreciated most?
Mr. Chauke M appreciated what ACVoSA did at Malamulele Hospital because it is not easy for
organisations to do what we did at the Hospital. Some of aACVoSA learn how to do stock
taking through counting medication stock.
c) What could have been done better? How?
Nothing could have been done better because everything was well organized.
d) What challenges faced?
The engagement started late which cause us to knock off late and some members who were
on the programme did not make it to be in the engagement which delayed some of the items
in the programme such as two people who were absent and they were appointed to present
school of Health Science and Math and Natural Sciences. The other issue is that we did not
make it to have Activities with Children due to time management because we were on the
interest of time,
How were they addressed?
We should have alternative or standby person who can stand for those will not attend the
event whereas they are in the programme.
