Barb Cicholski along with two SLHS
student volunteers, Brooke
Trueblood and Michelle Anglin, led a
class for middle school 4H students
in Lyles-Porter Hall. The class enti-
tled, Exploring the Careers of Speech
-Language Pathology and Audiolo-
gy, was part of a campus wide pro-
gram for 4 H students learning about
various careers. Topics covered in-
cluded: requirements for the fields
of Audiology and Speech-Language
Pathology, how communication and
swallowing disorders are treated,
specialty areas in the fields, and the
many settings where professionals
may work. Brooke and Michelle
shared information about why they
chose their major and what has
helped them be successful in col-
lege. The 23 students had great
questions and participated actively
in the class.

For faculty with lab websites in WordPress made by
non-Purdue contractors: email ITaP-
webadmin@purdue.edu to find out whether you
have any non-supported plug-ins or templates.
There was some change in Wordpress due to a secu-
rity issue.
For faculty looking for a lab website: Erin
(hallet@purdue.edu) and Martin
(mart@purdue.edu) in Marketing and Media can
assist. It is not free to have them create the website
but it might be easier and about the same cost as
going outside. I don't know their costs but I thought
I'd pass along that this help existed at Purdue be-
cause I had no idea.

that you can incorporate Cross-

students may participate. It is
such a great opportunity for our
students. Dependent upon their
role they may gain experience in
the logistics of planning an event
like this, applying for a grant, dis-
playing a poster, or simply appre-
ciating the importance of lifelong
learning. Our program this year
