The document discusses Paul's travels and interactions with other Christian leaders. It describes how Paul spent time in Corinth before departing for Syria with Priscilla and Aquila. It then talks about a man named Apollos who came to Ephesus and preached powerfully about Jesus, though he did not fully understand Jesus' role. When Priscilla and Aquila heard Apollos, they took him aside and explained Christianity more completely to him. Apollos then traveled to Achaia to help believers there by debating Jews and proving from scripture that Jesus is the Messiah.
Paul arrives in Ephesus and finds some disciples who have only received John's baptism. They did not know about the Holy Spirit. Paul baptizes them in the name of Jesus and lays hands on them, and they receive the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues and prophesying. The Scribes and Pharisees began questioning who Jesus was and whether he could truly forgive sins when he healed a paralyzed man. They were losing power as Jesus' popularity grew and his teachings offered people freedom from legalistic religion. To discredit Jesus and stop losing influence, the Pharisees looked for ways to convince people he had deceived them. When Jesus said he forgave the man's sins, the Pharisees seized on this to "reason," or deliberate and dispute, about Jesus' authority to do so in hopes of turning people against him.

Taking a stand for Christ-2013@KIPKABUS HIGH SCHOOLChesney Felix
Joseph of Arimathea took a bold stand for Christ by asking Pilate for Jesus' body after the crucifixion. Joseph had previously been a secret disciple of Jesus out of fear, but witnessing Jesus' death gave him courage to properly bury Him in Joseph's own tomb. Though it risked his reputation and position on the Jewish council, Joseph provided Jesus an honorable burial, giving evidence for Christianity. To take a stand like Joseph, one must be willing to sacrifice reputation or position and face potential costs of identifying with Christ. Frequent reflection on Christ's death and resurrection can strengthen resolve to remain firm in faith.
The document examines evidence for the reliability of the gospels and the historicity of Jesus and his resurrection. It finds that the gospels were written early and by eyewitnesses, and are more reliable than other ancient texts. Extra-biblical sources like Josephus support Jesus' existence. Archeology confirms biblical accounts. Objections that Jesus was a lunatic, liar or merely a teacher are refuted. The resurrection is supported by the empty tomb and eyewitness accounts too consistent to be hallucinations. In conclusion, the document finds the New Testament reliable and that Jesus was the Son of God who was resurrected.
Paul went to the synagogue in Thessalonica to preach to the Jews for three Sabbaths about how Jesus fulfilled prophecies of the Messiah. Some Jews and many Greeks believed, but unbelieving Jews became envious and stirred up trouble. They failed to find Paul, so they dragged his host Jason before the city rulers, accusing them of defying Caesar's decrees. When they could not get Paul, they took Jason as security until Paul appeared. Paul was then sent to Berea to preach again.

4) Their life and fruits must be consistent with their message.

1) The Israelites went to battle against the Philistines without consulting God and were defeated, losing 4,000 men.
2) Seeking to understand why God allowed their defeat, the elders blamed God rather than examining their own sins.
3) The Israelites then decided to bring the Ark of the Covenant into battle, believing it would ensure their victory as a good luck charm rather than recognizing it represented God's presence only when carried in faith and obedience.
This document discusses the difference between image and integrity. It uses the example of Apostle Paul, whose image was criticized by others who saw him as a plague and troublemaker, but his actions proved his integrity by always striving to have a clear conscience before God and man. While image can come from integrity, integrity does not always come from image. True integrity involves the wholeness of one's inner self and singleness of purpose, not selective or judgmental integrity. People should ensure their inner integrity is what is reflected on the outside.

Paul discovered that his imprisonment advanced the gospel in several ways:
1) Many brothers and sisters were emboldened in their faith by Paul's example of preaching while in chains.
2) Paul was able to preach the gospel to many people who visited him in prison, including the palace guard and King Agrippa.
3) Some preached out of jealousy of Paul, but the gospel still spread, both from sincere and insincere motives. Paul was joyful that Christ was being preached regardless of the motives.

Matthew 7:13-14 describes two gates - a narrow gate that leads to life, and a wide gate that leads to destruction. Many people enter through the wide gate because it is broad and easy, while few find the narrow gate. The document discusses the benefits of exercise for mental health. Regular physical activity can help reduce anxiety and depression and improve mood and cognitive function. Exercise causes chemical changes in the brain that may help protect against mental illness and improve symptoms for those who already suffer from conditions like anxiety and depression.
Pilate questions Jesus about whether he is the King of the Jews. Jesus responds that his kingdom is not of this world and that he was born to testify to the truth. Though Pilate declares Jesus a king, Jesus explains that his kingdom is from another place and that he came to testify to the truth, implying a spiritual rather than political kingdom.
The enemies of Judah and Benjamin heard that the exiles were rebuilding the Temple of the LORD in Jerusalem. They approached the leaders and offered to help with the rebuilding. However, their real intention was to discourage and frustrate the work. They bribed officials to work against the rebuilding efforts and wrote letters to the king accusing the Jews of rebellion. The enemies did not want the walls of Jerusalem rebuilt in case it diminished tribute and taxes paid to the king.
This week Rachel looks at Chapter 7 as we continue our series on the Book of Ezra. Rachel challenges us to look at the glorious hand of the Lord upon us.
1. Peter and John encountered a crippled man begging at the temple who asked them for money.
2. Peter told the man that he had no money but in the name of Jesus Christ he could walk, and the man was instantly healed.
3. A crowd gathered and was amazed by the healing. Peter told them the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob had glorified Jesus and they were witnesses to his resurrection.
This week is Session Two of our new series on hearing and applying the prophetic and Rachel looks at the story of Peter & John healing the lame man and speaking prophetically into hopeless situations.
This is our last session in our series on Spiritual Warfare and Steve Watts ends with a bang and a great message on walking the talk and getting "pickled"!
Astronism, Cosmism and Cosmodeism: the space religions espousing the doctrine...Cometan
This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.
Introduction
Mantra Yoga is an exact science. "Mananat trayate iti mantrah- by the Manana (constant thinking or recollection) of which one is protected or is released from the round of births and deaths, is Mantra." That is called Mantra by the meditation (Manana) on which the Jiva or the individual soul attains freedom from sin, enjoyment in heaven and final liberation, and by the aid of which it attains in full the fourfold fruit (Chaturvarga), i.e., Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. A Mantra is so called because it is achieved by the mental process.
Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.
The Book of Revelation, filled with symbolic and apocalyptic imagery, presents one of its most striking visions in Revelation 9:3-12—the locust army. Understanding the significance of this locust army provides insight into the broader themes of divine judgment, protection, and the ultimate triumph of God’s will as depicted in Revelation.

The pervasiveness of Lying in today's World.pptxniwres
In our interconnected world, lies weave through the fabric of society like hidden threads. We encounter them in politics, media, personal relationships, and even within ourselves. The prevalence of deception raises profound questions about truth, trust, and the human condition.
Lição 12: João 15 a 17 – O Espírito Santo e a Oração Sacerdotal | 2° Trimestr...OmarBarrezueta1
3. So if you’re serious about living this new
resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue
the things over which Christ presides. Don’t
shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed
with the things right in front of you. Look up,
and be alert to what is going on around
Christ—that’swhere the action is. See things
from his perspective.
14. 11–12 God did powerful things
through Paul, things quite out of the
ordinary. The word got around and people
started taking pieces of clothing—
handkerchiefs and scarves and the like—
that had touched Paul’s skin and then
touching the sick with them. The touch did
it—they were healed and whole.
15. 13–16 Some itinerant Jewish exorcists
who happened to be in town at the time
tried their hand at what they assumed to
be Paul’s “game.” They pronounced the
name of the Master Jesus over victims of
evil spirits, saying, “I command you by the
Jesus preached by Paul!” The seven sons of
a certain Sceva, a Jewish high priest, were
16. trying to do this on a man when the evil
spirit talked back: “I know Jesus and I’ve
heard of Paul, but who are you?” Then the
possessed man went berserk—jumped the
exorcists, beat them up, and tore off their
clothes. Naked and bloody, they got away
as best they could.
17. 17–20 It was soon news all over
Ephesus among both Jews and Greeks. The
realization spread that God was in and
behind this. Curiosity about Paul developed
into reverence for the Master Jesus. Many
of those who thus believed came out of the
closet and made a clean break with their
secret sorceries. All kinds of witches and
18. warlockscame out of the woodwork with
their books of spells and incantations and
made a huge bonfire of them. Someone
estimated their worth at fifty thousand
silver coins. In such ways it became evident
that the Word of the Master was now
sovereign and prevailed in Ephesus.
