Foster Wheeler won the ACTIVE Cup competition for the ninth time. The ACTIVE Cup is a project management simulation run by the ECITB and Cranfield School of Management. Twelve engineering and construction company teams participated in managing a simulated construction project. Foster Wheeler's UK subsidiary team was judged to have delivered a result closest to their bid targets in terms of profit and schedule. The CEO of Foster Wheeler Energy said winning the prestigious award helps develop their people's project management skills and teamwork.

1. FOSTER WHEELER WINS THE ACTIVE CUP
FOR A NINTH TIME
ZUG, SWITZERLAND, 12 November 2014 – Foster Wheeler AG. (Nasdaq: FWLT)
announced today that a team from its UK-headquartered subsidiary, Foster Wheeler Energy Limited,
part of its Global Engineering and Construction Group, has won this summer’s Engineering
Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) project management competition – the ACTIVE Cup.
Twelve teams from the leading engineering and construction companies in the UK took part in the
competition in which teams had to manage a computer-simulated, fixed-price environmental defence
construction project. Foster Wheeler has participated in the competition since its inception in 1996.
The ACTIVE (Achieving Competitiveness through Innovation and Value Enhancement) Cup
is a three-day competition and is run twice per year by the ECITB and Cranfield School of
Management in the UK.
The winning team was judged to be the team that delivered a result that was closest to the “as
bid” position in terms of profit and schedule and, in the judgement of the adjudicators, was also most
aligned with the ACTIVE principles.
