Active Adventures
Founded in 1996, Active Adventures
specializes in guided adventure tours
to New Zealand, South America and
the Himalayas, and has maintained
its identity of running small group,
fun and physically challenging
outdoor adventures in destinations
they know and love. Not content
with the status quo, Active
Adventures has spent the last 20
years breaking all the “run of the
mill” tourism rules – their relaxed
style is met with a professionalism
that stands head and shoulders
above the throng of ordinary tour
companies.
An Impressive Reputation
Active Adventures has had the
pleasure of guiding thousands of
happy travelers on outdoor
adventures and hiking trips to
unique and stunningly beautiful
destinations. The company believes
that an Active trip can make the
difference between ‘visiting’ versus
really ‘experiencing’ a place. The
company’s founders' original idea of
taking people on outdoor adventures
that challenge them a bit, reward
them a lot, and allow them to
experience a place, is at the heart of
everything Active Adventures does.
Thousands of Happy People
Active Adventures has
been offering guided
adventure vacations since
the mid 90’s, so it’s no
surprise they’ve
established a bevy of solid
reviews and repeat guests.
In particular, the company
has earned itself the
badge of being one of the
world’s most experienced
and trusted adventure
operators.
Only the Best Guides for Each Small Group
As a priority on each trip, Active
Adventures hand picks only the very best
guides, and never compromises when it
comes to experience, character and local
knowledge. Every guide employed by
Active Adventures is an expert of the
region and in the field.
Active Adventures’ trips have a guest cap
of 14 travelers, less in some places,
allowing flexibility and freedom to do as
much (or as little) as they please.
Another great benefit of traveling with a
small group is the opportunity to get to
know fellow travelers who will become
lifelong friends in no time.
All-Inclusive Trips of a Lifetime to Unique
Destinations
• Reach the most incredible, off-the-
beaten-path places that would
surprise even the locals. Current
destinations include New Zealand,
Nepal, Patagonia, Peru, Ecuador &
the Galapagos Islands.
• Additionally, guests who travel with
Active Adventures know exactly how
much the trip will cost, without
having to worry about added
expenses or hidden fees post trip.
Legendary Kiwi Hospitality
Every member of the Active
Adventures team radiates
the undeniable Kiwi spirit,
making guests feel right at
home. This warmth and
kindness is extended on all
Active Adventures’ trips,
bringing the legendary Kiwi
hospitality to destinations
around the world.
A Sense of Accomplishment
Each adventure offers travelers the
opportunity to challenge
themselves, whether it be
physically, mentally, emotionally or
spiritually. Guests range from
seasoned adventure enthusiasts to
first time, international travelers, all
of whom have something to gain
when they travel with Active
Adventures. Guests can leap outside
of their comfort zones, in whichever
way that may be, and they will
return home with a renewed sense
of self and refreshed outlook on life.

Award-Winning Trips
• Active Adventures’ approach to adventure travel is quite special, so it’s no
surprise the company has been recognized by the industry’s most respected and
widely-trusted publications.
• Press and accolades include numerous awards from National Geographic
Traveler, National Geographic Adventure, Outside Magazine and Travel + Leisure.
Active Hearts Himalaya • In 2015, Active Adventures’ senior
guide in Nepal, Dan Keys, founded
Active Hearts to further support the
Nepalese people, hoping to return
the kindness and generosity these
guides and porters have shown him
and the wider team. Following the
devastating earthquake on April
25th, the grassroots non-profit now
aims to provide assistance in the
village of Gogane.
