Michael R. Hutchison is the Deputy to the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Contracting Command (ACC). ACC provides global contracting support to war fighters through contracts valued at $74 billion in fiscal year 2012. Mr. Hutchison has over 20 years of experience in acquisition and contracting roles within the Army, including as Executive Director of two ACC offices. He holds a master's degree and is certified in defense acquisition.

Deputy to the Commanding General
Mr. Michael R. Hutchison is the Deputy to the Commanding General,
U.S. Army Contracting Command. He assumed the position in January
2013.
ACC is a major subordinate command of the U.S. Army Materiel
Command. Headquartered at Redstone Arsenal, Ala., ACC includes
two subordinate commands—the Mission and Installation Contracting
Command and the Expeditionary Contracting Command—and six
major contracting centers that support AMC’s other major subordinate
and life cycle management commands.
ACC provides global contracting support to war fighters through the
full spectrum of military operations. ACC consists of more than 6,800
military and civilian personnel worldwide who awarded and managed
more than 229,000 contractual actions valued at an estimated $74 billion in fiscal year 2012.
Prior to joining the ACC headquarters staff, Mr. Hutchison served as Executive Director and Principal
Assistant Responsible for Contracting for ACC-Rock Island, located at Rock Island Arsenal, Ill., and
as the Acting Executive Director of the ACC-National Capital Region, located in Alexandria, Va.
He is a member of the Army Acquisition Corps and is Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act
Level III certified. His previous acquisition assignments include Deputy Director, Rock Island
Contracting Center; Chief, Contracting Support Division, U.S. Army Sustainment Command, Rock
Island; Procurement Analyst, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Research, Development and
Acquisition, U.S Army Materiel Command, Fort Belvoir, Va.; and Procurement Analyst, Office of the
Inspector General, U.S. Army Materiel Command. Mr. Hutchison has a master’s degree in National
Resource Strategy, Industrial College of the Armed Forces and a bachelor’s degree in Business
Administration from St. Louis University, Mo.
His awards include the Army Acquisition Excellence Award, the Secretary of Defense Medal for the
Global War on Terrorism, the Joint Civilian Service Achievement Award, the Secretary of the Army
Excellence in Contracting Award, the Meritorious Civilian Service Award, the Commander’s Award for
Civilian Service, and the Achievement Medal for Civilian Service.
