More women are becoming the primary earners in their households according to a recent study. The study found that 40% of households with children under 18 now have mothers that are either the sole or primary source of income, up from 11% in 1960. Of these breadwinning mothers, 37% are married to husbands that earn less while 63% are single mothers.
