Harakomeshi is a traditional dish from Watari town, Miyagi prefecture, Japan. It consists of a bowl of rice topped with salmon and salmon roe. To make harakomeshi, salmon and salmon roe are placed over rice and mixed together before eating. The dish gained popularity after Date Masamune, a famous lord from Sendai during the Sengoku period, enjoyed eating harakomeshi. It is now considered one of Miyagi's most famous and iconic local foods.
