This document discusses different types of rest seats used in dental prosthetics. It describes intracoronal and extracoronal rest seats. The key requirements for an occlusal rest seat are that it avoids undercuts, is smooth, polished, located in self-cleansing areas, and provides positive seating of the rest. Spoon or saucer shapes are recommended. Cingulum and incisal rest seats are also outlined, with dimensions and locations provided. Preparation of rest seats aims to duplicate the natural occlusal morphology while meeting the outlined requirements.
