The Abel OWBC Chapter Two: Pretty Monsters
Welcome back to the Abel OWBC! I would suggest reading the first chapter before this one. Or you could read this chapter first and probably end up totally confused. Or maybe you won’t be confused. Or maybe you will. Either way, I hope you enjoy this chapter. Moving right along…
As you can tell, Squishy is very popular with the ladies. Luckily, one of the Abels always goes to retrieve their gnome.
Lyndi: “Oh. Joy. I’m pregnant again. I’m glad that this is the last one. Although, I have no idea why I feel so compelled to have three children.”
Yay! The boys are finally growing up! Hopefully Brick won’t get taken away as a child. Although, he did survive his toddler years…
Lyndi: “Woo! Go Brick! Go Odd! Grow up! Yeah!” Awful Fashion Sense Dude: “It’s really not that exciting, lady.”
Brick grew up into a decent outfit. It’s my hope that he continues this trend.
Wow. Just wow. Odd is a complete clone of Brick. Odd is also a Scorpio with 9/7/9/3/1 as his personality (the exact one that Brick has). Maybe the next kid will be different?
Brick likes to sleep in his parents’ bed rather than his own. So, this means that one of the parents ends up in his bed. I wonder if he’ll do this as a teenager too?
Odd’s first word is even he same as Brick’s was! That’s kind of…odd. (Oh, the puns, they slay me.)
The first thing that Brick does when he wakes up? He turns on the radio and dances. This is very annoying. Very, very annoying. Because he literately does this every. Single. Morning. But what’s worse? He turns the radio on every time he isn’t taking care of any needs/doing homework/at school. But at least he’s self-sufficient. You’ll notice that throughout the chapter.
Lyndi: “Oh. Thank chocolate! I got bigger!”
Candice: “I’m so glad that Brick brought me home from school! I can’t wait to see his house and meet his family and become his best friend forever!” Bus Driver: “Um…kid? You’re kind of freaking me out by talking to yourself like that.”
Brick: “I’ve got it! I’ve got it! Alright! Here you go! Catch!” Candice: “OW! You hit me in the face! In the eye! That hurt!” Brick: “Hehehe…er…I mean, I’m sorry.” Candice: “Sorry doesn’t cut it! I’m leaving!” Brick: “Oh, thank goodness. That kid was weird.”
I would just like to point out how much I love and adore Phil (the blonde guy). Phil gave Peter a job in the Adventure career! Why does this matter? Well, Peter had been unable to find a job in that career so that he could complete his lifetime want. Thanks to Phil, he has his dream job now. That and Phil is just made of awesome.
Lyndi: “So, we haven’t been on a date since that day before we got married. We need to go on another date. Like now.” Peter: “Alright then. I was thinking the same thing.”
Here’s a family picture! I love how Brick makes his own muffins. He practically lives off the things, even when they’re burnt. It amazes me at how self-sufficient he is. Maybe I just got lucky?
Brick: “Sweet muffins! What’s going on?” Lyndi: “I’m having a baby! You might want to leave!” Brick: “Nah. I’ll just keep standing here and be scarred for life.”
YES! Slight genetic variety! Meet Oasis Abel. She (yes, a girl!) has brown hair and green eyes. Finally! A child that has Lyndi’s eyes! I named her Oasis because, when I was thinking of names, this was the first one I thought of for O but I wanted Oasis to be a girl. And she is!
This is their house right now. (Ignore the grid lines, I thought those were gone when I took the picture.) You can see that all three children share a room. Well, that is, they would share a room if Brick would use his own bed. The Abels are quite poor. They can’t afford to add on another room yet. Maybe that will change before the next generation arrives?
I know it’s a little early to be thinking about this, but I’m wondering about the heir polls. You see, I usually choose myself who takes over. Obviously, I won’t be able to do that. (But I can hint strongly at my favorite, I’m sure.) However, I really don’t have a favorite right now. I like all of the kids, even Brick. It will be interesting to see what happens when that heir poll time comes.
Brick is very interesting to watch. I mean, I usually control my Sims, so it’s strange having a Sim that I absolutely cannot control until he’s an adult (even then I only get to give him 8 commands). But Brick takes really good care of himself, which is a good thing. I don’t think I could handle it if he, Odd, and Oasis were taken away.
Unlike Brick, Odd has almost learned all of his toddler skills. I almost feel a little bad for Brick.
It’s birthday time again! This time, Lyndi wasn’t here because she was at work.
Oasis grew up adorably! She is a Pisces with 8/3/8/3/10 as her personality. Wow! She’s over-the-top nice! Peter’s nose is apparently a very dominant feature.
Next up is Odd! Brick: “Yay! More cake!”
I actually think that these kids are rather adorable. They’ve definitely grown on me. I don’t usually marry in Sims that look like Peter. I might reconsider that now, though.
Odd: “Yay! School!” Bus Lady: “You’re one odd kid.” Odd: “That’s my name, don’t wear it out!”
Another family picture! Except you can barely see Brick. But still. Look! Oasis even has a different first word than her brothers!
It’s nice and all that Brick is doing something other than blasting the stereo. However, jumping in puddles in the middle of a torrential downpour with lots of lightening everywhere? Yeah. Hopefully kids can’t get struck by lightening. Teenagers on the other hand…
Aww…they’re all in their pajamas. And it appears that Odd has picked up the habit of making muffins to eat. Brick is such a good influence. Or, you know, it could be that they’re basically clones of each other. Let’s just go with Brick is a good influence, shall we?
Lyndi: “Muhaha! I can see everything! I can spy on everyone without moving! YES!” Lyndi might enjoy the telescope a little too much.
Brick actually got an A+ on his own! Sweetness! Well, I did kind of make his parents make him do his homework. But still. It’s cool that he got an A basically on his own.
Odd brought home a friend from school. Her name is Lucy. Unfortunately, Lucy didn’t get to stick around very long. I only remember her name because I named her after my cat.
Odd: “Your birthday is today isn’t it?” Oasis: “Birfday? Yes!” Odd: “Happy birthday then!”
Odd was too tired to stick around to see Oasis grow up. Lyndi was at work. So, it was just Brick and Peter there to cheer Oasis on.
Peter: “Wow! My kids are growing up so fast!” Brick: “Yay! Oasis will be big enough to play with!”
Oasis is adorable! I’m pretty sure that she only has her dad’s nose.
The kids are usually awake before their parents are. As you can see, Brick is eating yet another muffin. For some reason, the kids sometimes leave their muffins sitting in the toy oven for a whole day. But Brick always ends up eating them.
Odd: “So, do you think that aliens exist?” Brick: “Aliens? Yeah. I think I saw one of them the other day.” Oasis: “Really? Cool!” Odd: “Yeah, that’s awesome!” Brick: “Yep!”
Black-Haired Girl: “Guys? Is your dad wearing a deep sea diving outfit?” Odd: “Oh. Look at that! He is! Neat!” Brick: “How can he use a phone through his helmet?” Red Head: “Maybe his helmet is magic?”
Oh! Brick is growing up. It appears that his siblings don’t really care, though.
Brick rolled Knowledge as his aspiration! You know what’s odd? He grew up Platinum. I don’t even know how he managed that.
So, I sent Oasis in to clean the bathroom because she had nothing better to do. Then, Brick randomly came in and helped her. I thought that it was sweet of him.
Now that Brick is a teenager, he appears to like to work out a lot. He stays on this thing forever. Thus, whenever his icon turns yellow-ish, I make one of his family members distract him so that he A) won’t die, B) will see to whatever needs he has, and C) won’t overheat. Because I actually kind of like Brick. (But I don’t really care who takes over, to be honest.)
Lyndi: “So, Brick, you seem to have grown up. Do you have plans for college?” Brick: “Um…maybe? I doubt I’ll go, though.” That’s right. I don’t think the kids are going to go to college. This would be why I didn’t do the University bonus. (That and it would be torture to send Brick to college only to have him probably end up getting expelled.)
Lyndi and Peter are, obviously, still happily married. Hopefully, their kids will have rooms of their own. As it is, the kids are still sharing one bedroom. It’s amazing how you can fit three beds in a small room.
Finally, Odd is growing up into a teenager! Is it just me or did the teen birthdays really come fast? I mean, Oasis only has about three days until she’s a teenager. Then…it’s voting time! I’m very curious to see who will carry on Lyndi’s OWBC.
Odd rolled…Popularity! Joy! He grew up Platinum just like Brick. (I’m hoping that Oasis does the same.)
Lyndi: “Gosh. You kids are growing up so fast. It seems like just yesterday Brick was a toddler.” Oasis: “I’m next, mom! I can’t wait to be a teenager!” Brick: “Being a teenager isn’t really all it’s cracked up to be…” Lyndi: “Being the mother of two teenagers and an almost-teenager makes me feel old…” Oasis: “Then I’ll stay little forever!”
Brick: “Star bright, star light, won’t you turn into a UFO tonight? I’d like to meet some aliens even though being probed does not sound fun. Star bright, star light, won’t you bring me some aliens tonight?” Brick is a true Knowledge Sim. All he does now is try to earn skill points. (And I’m not even controlling him! He’s pretty awesome, right?)
Blonde Girl: “So, you share a room with your siblings? Even your sister?” Brick: “Uh…yeah?” Blonde Girl: “Wow. That’s odd.” Odd: “Huh? Someone call? Oh. It’s just the blonde bimbo attempting to make a joke about how we all share the same room. Ha, ha, ha.” Brick: “Yeah. You should probably go now…”
Oasis would just like the whole neighborhood and everyone reading this know…she got an A! An A, folks! Woo! After hearing this cheer 80 million times, it kind of gets old.
Brick: “What are you guys waiting for?” Odd: “The bus driver has a creepy smile.” Oasis: “Yeah. It’s like the I’m-going-to-murder-you-with-a-machete type of smile.” Odd: “So, we’re waiting to see if he kills you before we get on the bus.” Brick: “…right. That’s real nice of you guys. Not!”
Oasis: “My gnome sense is tinkling. LUCY! Are you stealing our gnome?” Lucy: “No! Of course not! Why would you assume such a thing?” Oasis: “You’re stealing it, aren’t you?” Lucy: “Maybe…”
Best work outfit ever? Dread Pirate. In fact, just the thought of being a Dread Pirate sounds like it would be fun.
Candice: “Hi, Mrs. Abel! I’m Candice! One day, I’m going to take over the world using rock and roll.” Lyndi: “Um…that’s interesting…”
Another birthday! Candice actually stayed for this one.
Candice: “Wish for me to grow up with you!” Oasis: “No offence but I’d rather not…”
By the way, Candice did end up growing up with Oasis. Why? Um…I had the sudden urge to just let her grow up? Unfortunately, the poor girl grew up into a hideous outfit. Oasis, on the other hand, grew up into a kimono.
Wow! Oasis got a lot of her mom’s looks! She is a Family Sim. Wonderful.
Smustle time! If Brick and Odd had the same hairstyle and outfit on, it would be impossible to tell the difference between them.
Brick: “So, now that you’re a teenager, Oasis, there are some things Odd and I want to talk to you about.” Oasis: “What is it?” Odd: “Well, any guy that you date has to be grilled by us first.” Brick: “Also, if he breaks your heart, we have every right to take him out.” Oasis: “Aww…that’s sweet of you two. However, I can handle myself. So, you won’t have to worry about the grilling and the beating of anyone.”
Lyndi: “Brick?” Brick: “Yeah, mom?” Lyndi: “Why do you feel compelled to wear your underwear to sleep in?” Brick: “Well…um…ask me later when I’ve made up a good excuse.”
Odd: “A word of advice: Don’t wear your underwear outside in the middle of the winter.” Brick: “Hmm…that sounds rather logical.” Odd: “In fact, don’t wear your underwear at all. It’s kind of weird.” Brick: “Hey, I like my freedom, kid. There’s no way anyone will take that away.”
Lyndi’s work outfit isn’t nearly as awesome as the Dread Pirate outfit. I don’t think that any of the work outfits can top that one, though. Except maybe the Space Pirate one.
Oasis: “My gnome sense is tinkling.” Odd: “Yeah, your friend, Lilly, is stealing our gnome.” Oasis: “What is it with my friends stealing our gnome? I know we’ll get it back later but Squishy doesn’t deserve such a fate.” Odd: “It’s an inanimate object.” Squishy: “Oasis, avenge meeee…” Odd: “Did…did it just talk?”
On that note, here is where I end the chapter! I hope that you enjoyed reading it! Also, please vote on the heir poll that I will eventually put up. I’d like to know who’s carrying on the challenge before I keep going. That’s all, folks!
