EMPLOYMENT AND CAREER OBJECTIVES
To continue the advancement of my professional career in administration and leadership of
educational programs/agencies and capitalize on opportunities to expand my knowledge and
experience. My current position as of Director for the Idaho STAR Motorcycle Safety Program is
in alignment with my expertise, experience, and passion for professional and educational excellence.
My lifetime career goal is to be recognized as an expert and thought-leader in my field.

ACHIEVEMENTS
Program Management and Quality Assurance
 Developed comprehensive 1, 2, 3 and 5-year strategic plans for state program
 Created the first line-item, zero-based budget for the motorcycle safety and training program
with a 1+ million-dollar annual operating budget
 Built a professional management team from the ground up
 Supervised, promoted, and developed outstanding leaders in the field; increased morale and
retention rates in the instructor and mentor corps

 Developed and implemented a model for evaluating entry-level rider curricula against
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) National Model Standards for
Entry-Level Motorcycle Rider Training and introduced it to a national audience of state
administrators and curriculum developers
 Evaluated STAR’s Basic Rider Training course using the designed matrix and incorporated
curriculum enhancements to meet the standards at 100%*
*According to Cambridge Systematics, Idaho was one of the first and only states to develop a comprehensive, non-biased metric of
evaluation and modify its Basic Rider curriculum to meet the National Standards at 100%
 Developed and implemented a comprehensive quality assurance program used for evaluation
and improvements in statewide public education program
 Ongoing enhancement of the student experience by regular curriculum revisions, upgrades
to audio visual aids, and implementation of current teaching methods
Training and Curriculum Development
 Developed partnership with Harley-Davidson Motor Company® (national) to design a
curriculum-neutral Riding Academy to be piloted in Idaho
 Member: Developed 16-hour course for advanced riders based on police motor officer
training
 Co-developed Braking Skills Practice and Cornering Skills Practice; revised Experienced
Course
 Modified and introduced a pre-basic curriculum in Idaho
 Developed instructor training courses for the Experienced Course, Braking Skills Practice,
Cornering Skills Practice, and Introduction to Riding Clinic
 Introduced three-wheel training in Idaho
 Designed and hosted an instructional design summit with attendees from Washington,
Oregon, and Virginia programs
 Consulted on potential rider training curriculum conversion for state program coordinators
in Virginia, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Ohio, Texas, and Minnesota

 Served for two years as the National Association of State Motorcycle Safety Administrators
(SMSA) Western Region Representative, Executive Committee Secretary, and E-Newsletter
