On May 27, 2014 Achieve and the National Association of State Directors of Career and Technical Education (NASDCTEc) hosted a webinar open to state leaders and partners in all 50 states to provide guidance to states interested in building more indicators of career preparation into their accountability and public reporting systems and to preview a new joint publication, "Making Career Readiness Count." In addition to sharing a view of how states are currently approaching this challenge, presenters discussed what state policy leaders need to consider as they look to reform their reporting and accountability systems to ensure that the “career” in college- and career-ready accountability and public reporting is a powerful lever to focus priorities, drive progress, and ultimately see more students – and their communities – succeed. State leaders from Missouri and Virginia also shared the range of career-focused indicators used within their accountability and public reporting systems. Notes
The Key to the Range of Marks, Grades awarded, their Definitions, Symbols and Characters used, and
the Minimum aggregate marks, of the JUNE 2006 examination is as follows:
(A, B and C are o'Pass Grades" and E andZ are "Fail Grades",
D is a "Ma,rginal Grade" and it may either be Pass or Fail as per criteria)
The entry in the 'Result Forundation' row specifies whether the candidate has Passed or Failed the
whole Foundation Examination.
Although a candidate gets Pass or Marginal Grades in some of the subjects, he may yet Fail
the whole Foundation Examiination, if he Fails in any subject, as per criteria published . In cirder to obtain
a pass result in the whole Foundation examination, a minimum of Grade D (Marginal) is required
in each subject, except when a single subject is offered to complete the Foundation Examination, sitting
for that level only, in which case the minimum required Grade is C (Ordinary Pass).
The entry in the 'Subject Result'column against the relevant subject specifies whether the candidate has
Passed or Failed the relevant Siubject, as per criteria. For those who Fail the whoie Foundation Examination
a Minimum of Grade C (Ordinary Fass) is required for a Subject Pass (that is, a permanent credit)
The Subject-wise Pass Scherne is operative from the September 1998 Examination. The following criteria
applicable to that scheme were approved from the December 2000 examination. The terminology has been
updated to match the revision of syllabus in 2005.
Foundation and Intermedial:e - A candidate may sit for all the four subjects of Foundation and all the four
subjects of Intermediate, at one and the same exarnination, or may sit subject by subject. If the candidate obtains
Pass Grades in some Subjectr; of Foundation or Intermediate, but has Failed the other subjects, those Pass
Grades will stand as pennanent creclits. He need not sit for those Pass subjects in both Foundation and
Intermediate as those remain to his credit. However, a candidate should continue to sit for all the remaining
Fail subjects of a Level at su.bsequent sittings, until all subjects of the Level are successfully completed.
Absence for any subject applied for will not disqualify a candidate from being credited with Passes
in the subjects appeared for in that Exarnination.
Examination Structure: In order to complete the AAT(SL) Examination, a candidate has to fasl 1or Ue
exempted fi'om) three (03) Lrsvels - Foundation,Intermediate and Final. '$
A student is not eligible to sit for the Final Examination uritil he has Passed or has been exempted
from the Foundation and Intermediate examinations.
