This document proposes a redesign of the Chalkers Corner junction to improve safety and traffic flow. The current junction is confusing for drivers, lacks cycle facilities, and has high risks for collisions. The proposed design would feature early separation of traffic, dedicated turn lanes, protected pedestrian and cycle phases, removal of parking, and optimized signal timing. This would minimize conflicts between modes, reduce delays, and bring the junction design in line with current best practices.
