2. His life:
• Henry Ford was born on 30 July 1863 in
Greenfield, USA.
• His parents (Mary and William) were farmers in
Ireland, so he lived in a humble family.
• He married Clara Bryant and they had a son
called Edsel.
• Finally, he died on April 7, 1947. Leaving a
collection of quotations as “whether you think
you can or think you can’t, you are right.”
3. Working philosophy:
• Pioneer of “welfare
capitalism”
• He tried to improve his workers’
standard of living.
• Efficiency consisted on hiring the
best workers.
• In 1914 he announces the
availability of 5 dollars per day,
reduced working hours from 9 to
8 hours, 5 days a week.
• He created the "sociological
department" to maintain
employee standards (demanded a
life without alcohol and without
games).
• Thanks to this, the workers
entered the American middle
class and even buying cars that
they produced, bringing benefits
to the company.
