3. INVENTOR
Invented his first horseless carriage in 1986 and released the famous
Model T in 1908 which sold 15,000,000 in the US alone. The Model T was
sold for $825.
4. More than an inventor…
•Henry Ford did more than bring
about the first massed produced
automobile.
•He had a passion for business.
•He shocked the world by offering
wages of $5/day which was more
than double the current wage.
•Created the concept of “welfare
capitalism” which focused on the
welfare of the employees to
decrease turnover and improve
working conditions.
•Reduced workday from 9 hours to 8
hours.
Developed profit sharing plan.
•Focused on employees’ lives
outside of work as well.
•Developed the concept of
franchising.
5. During WWII he built the Willow Run Aircraft Assembly Plant to manufacture B-24
Liberator aircrafts for the United States Armed Forces.
Built 18,000 aircrafts at that plant
6. He married his wife, Clara in
1888 and they had one son,
Edsel in 1893.
