public spaces. i am also an
photographer of public
spaces and their users
this is a public space
next to my office. Broadway, a
high dense commercial area
today we
gonna walk
around!

3. even the
small details as
a food cart changes
the flow of people
and their moves
people walks in a different way
way depending on the mood of
the place.
the first
thing to keep
in mind is
that...
to understand how people
behaves in the public space
you must feel the
city
gyros!
kebab!
pizza!
...time
does not
matter!
open markets
are also a social
manner...
if you
stop your
walking it might
mean that...
...to enhance
spaces as a
cultural hub
in the city
...something
is happening
in the space!

4. sometimes walking
in some busy venues
of the city, such as
commercial streets
can be stressful
your walk gets
interrupted a lot
due to crowds
of people
stores showcase attracts
people from the middle of
sidewalk
if the streets aren’t large
enough, a crowd is created
jan gehl, believes that a trully liveable city shall
have pedestrian streets as a commercial center.
this type of chaos is good for the maintenance of
the public areas. However, it is better to have
multiple points instead of a single and realy
congested place.
nothing
in the world is
more simple and
more cheap than
making cities that
provide better
for people

5. i
rationalize my
behavior by noting
that crossing the
street against the
traffic light makes me
pay more atention to
what i am doing.
there is also
some kind of an urban
etiquette that leads you
to walk in a manner that
affects others. sometimes
only eye contact is enough
to understand how to
bear while walking
in the city, eye contact is
carefully wielded
some research suggests that
the very presence of signs, traffic lights,
crosswalks, and raised curbs, all intended
to make walking safer for the pedestrian in a
car-filled city, actually make it less safe.

acts quick and
fluid unconsciously.

we live
