The story "A Letter to God" by G.L. Fuentes depicts the unwavering faith of a farmer named Lencho in God. It begins with Lencho expecting rain to nourish his corn field. However, the rain turns into a devastating hailstorm that destroys his entire crop. Despite being disheartened, Lencho has strong faith in God and writes a letter asking for help. The letter motivates the postmaster to anonymously help Lencho, though Lencho later expresses disappointment with the amount. The story illustrates Lencho's unquestioning faith in God and the conflicts between man and nature and among men themselves.
The poem describes how the poet was in a bad mood while walking past a hemlock tree. A crow happened to shake snow dust from the hemlock tree onto the poet. Though crow and hemlock tree are usually associated with negative meanings, this small incident lifted the poet's mood and improved the rest of his day, which he had been regretting. The poem suggests that even inauspicious things in nature can unexpectedly bring joy and happiness.
Iswaran was an asset to Mahendra as his obedient cook and servant who did many jobs like cooking, washing clothes, and chatting with Mahendra at night with full dedication. As a storyteller, Iswaran liked to dramatize even small incidents and create suspense in his listeners. In describing an uprooted tree on the highway, he presented it as an enormous beast to build suspense, though it was just a fallen tree. His goal was to engage and surprise his audience with his narratives.

This document provides details about John Galsworthy and his famous work The Forsyte Saga. It then describes the story of the Gessler Brothers boot makers in London. The brothers were skilled craftsmen who made high-quality boots by order, though they struggled to compete with larger firms. Over time, both brothers passed away - the elder from natural causes, while the younger starved as the business declined. Their small shop was later taken over by a larger English company, marking the end of the Gessler Brothers' tradition of quality boot making.
The poem describes the poet lying in bed listening to the sound of raindrops falling on the roof. The rain brings back fond memories of the poet's childhood and mother. As the poet listens to the rain, he feels comforted and thinks back to times when his mother would watch over him as he slept. The falling rain has a soothing effect and allows the poet to reconnect with precious moments from the past.
