Brief Description of WTO
• An organization for trade opening. WTO is run by its member
governments. All major decisions are made by the membership
as a whole, either by ministers (meet at least once every two
years) or by their ambassadors or delegates (meet regularly in
Geneva).
• A forum for governments to negotiate trade agreements, to
settle trade disputes. It operates a system of trade rules.

TFA Database
a variety of statisticalanalyses of the TFA notifications received and on the
progress towards full implementation of the TFA. It contains Member profiles
pages with an in-depth analysis per country amongstother features.

Thus, for an RTA that includes both goods and services, we count two notifications (one for goods and
the other services), even though it is physically one RTA. Nevertheless, figures on the physical number
of RTAs (counting goods and services together), are provided in the last table below.
