New Millennium Dive Expeditions is a non-profit scientific organization that explores and studies shipwrecks in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. One of their projects was exploring the SS Tahoe, a steamship that was scuttled in 1940 in Glenbrook Bay. Using technology like video footage, they aimed to provide new information about the ecological environment, support historical accounts, and explore legends about the shipwreck. Their dives revealed that the SS Tahoe rests at a 30 degree slope between 360-470 feet deep, and that much of its damage came from being scuttled rather than moving due to earthquakes. They have spent over $65,000 exploring the shipwreck.

Stealing the Oceans: Humanity Struggles for Survival in This 1000 Year Epic W...Rick Doble
Stealing the Oceans by Rick Doble is a hard science fiction novella based on our current understanding of science and technology. An unusual SF story, it covers 1000 years when the people of the Earth are forced to make drastic changes. This occurs because ocean levels begin to gradually fall for hundreds of years -- with no end in sight. Using the latest technology, world governments work to determine the reason. But the discovery of the cause leads to panic and desperate attempts to rebuild civilizations. This epic story is as much about the forces involved as the individual people -- and comes complete with a city directory for one of the new cities that is established, along with a full description of how a new culture evolved.
rough draft of presentation explaining why we need to create an immersive VR experience for scientists and archeologists to explore shipwrecks and submerged cultural resources ahead of time for improved outcomes.

11. What is left to do? Ultimately our goal was & is to share this with the school children and communities of nevada, Via a Documentary film, but until we can generate the interest, that may generate the funding, our Project sits unfinished in a box. An unfortunate Situation for such an important part of our Nevada History. To date, NMDE has spent over $65,000 of self Generated funding.
