This document provides instructions for configuring VPN access for users' laptops to access email. It outlines setting a static IP address within the organization's IP range, configuring the mail file location and replication settings to access email from the central mail server remotely. The key steps are to create a connection to the central mail server, edit the user's location settings, open the mail file and create a local replica for access when connected remotely via VPN.

1. VPN USER SETTING. These users are having Secure remote software installed in there laptops and are called as VPN users. Such users can access mails from Internet & as well as from your LAN. Connect the Laptop to your LAN and assign the static IP of your IP range , only two IP’s have VPN access 150 and 151. {this is default for all locations} Now login in lotus notes, press control O from keyboard and type IP Address of HO Lotus server 172.23.51.121 and press enter. Automatically a connection record of HO server gets created as shown in attached fig. This step is very important .

2. Modifying location Document Edit the office location of user 1.Name the location as VPN, select local area network, and also add the internet address of user 2.Write the HO Server name as Home mail server 4.Make the replication settings same as shown in Fig 3.Mail file location should be local

Opening Mail file and Creating local replica 1.Press Control O from keyboard and you will get the open database screen now type the HO server name in the server field or IP address and press enter, now search the mail file of user and open it. 2.After the mail file is opened, go-to file/replication and then click new Replica. 4. 3.As soon as you click new replica, the below attached screen will pop-up, don’t change anything from below screen, only remove the tick mark from Encrypt the replica using . Now click Ok, Replication process will start. As shown in Fig 2 { Note:- by default mail file gets copied in lotus\notes\data folder} 4.Replication Process. Let the replication process complete.
