Yellow Waters Billabong - A river system given its name by the colour the water looks as the sun hits it at sunset and sunrise. Taking a cruise along this river is an experience of a lifetime . Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre This centre displays the creation era as interpreted by the Aboriginal people. An excellent interpretive and interactive display of the history of Kakadu .

102. Katherine is a vast network of rivers, escarpments and gorges that weave through the sprawling plains of cattle stations, national parks and reserves. Cutta Cutta Caves Nature Park These limestone caves reveal beautiful formations of stalactites and stalagmites as well as sparkling calcite crystals in the walls. They are also home to the rare ghost and orange horseshoe bats and the nearly extinct blind shrimp. Nitmiluk National Park - The beautiful 2,920 square-kilometres Nitmiluk National Park is made up of 13 sandstone sections. The name ‘Nitmiluk’ is the traditional Jawoyn landowners’ word for Cicada Dreaming, which is one of the area’s important Dreamtime stories. Numerous art sites remain some over 7,000 years old. Pine Creek - This is an historic gold mining township, approximately halfway between Kakadu and Katherine. Gold was first discovered here in 1871. The town still possesses the original buildings and is home to the oldest continuously running general store in Australia.

103. Devils Marbles - Fascinating natural wonder about 106km south of Tennant Creek. The Marbles are thousands of huge, rounded granite boulders balanced delicately atop one another in a wide shallow valley. The vistas are especially remarkable at sunrise and sunset. Alice Springs Cultural Precinct - The precinct presents a wonderful array of culture and natural history of Central Australia. The site is culturally significant to Aboriginal people in the area with seven sacred sites and trees of significance. 104. Frontier Camel Farm - T his is a great way of learning about the camels of Australia which were introduced from the Middle East by the early pioneers. Camels were far tougher than horses and made establishing the township far easier. Interestingly, there are now approximately 200,000 camels in Central Australia, that’s more camels than the entire population of the Northern Territory .
