Christ the
Redeemer
The Colosseum
Built in the first century AD, in the center of Rome,
is an amphitheater of the Roman Empire, although
originally known as the Flavian Amphitheatre,
honoring the emperors of the Flavian dynasty, who
built this amphitheater, later was renamed
"Colosseum "by a statue of Colossus of Nero that
was located next to the amphitheater.
Originally possessed the capacity for 50,000
attendees, arranged in 80 rows of bleachers, the
nearest sand places were for the Emperor and
Senators, and as the places they left the arena,
descended social strata that occupied.
The Colosseum in Rome, were held fights between gladiators,
among beasts and some other public events.
THE GREAT WALL OF
CHINA
From the day July 7, 2007, The Great Wall of China is
part ofThe New Wonders of the World.
The Great Wall of China is a Chinese fortification,
built in the 4th century BC and rebuilt in the 16th
century, was built to protect the Chinese Empire
from attacks by the Xiongnu nomads of Manchuria
and Mongolia.
When the Chinese wall was used for the purpose for
which it was designed and built, was guarded by up
to 1 million troops, and in construction, about 10
million people died, being considered by some
people, the largest cemetery world, the bodies were
buried in the vicinity of the wall.
Taj
Mahal
• TheTaj Mahal was built from 1631-1654.
• Located in Agra, a city of Uttar Pradesh in
India.
• Built by Shah Jahan, emperor of the Mughal
dynasty.
TheTaj Mahal, the world's most beautiful mausoleum covered with
white marble and decorated in different parts of gemstones from
around the world ... and today represents perhaps the greatest
construction made love to a woman
• TheTaj Mahal was built in honor of his
favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died
giving birth to their 14th child.
• The emperor decided to build the most
beautiful tomb that the world has seen, to
make it as a testament to his love for her.
Machu Picchu is the name given
to an ancient Inca village, built in
the mid fifteenth century, is
located on a rocky outcrop
attached between Machu Picchu
and Huayna Picchu mountain in
Peru, east of the Central
Cordillera, about 130 kilometers
from Cuzco, which is the nearest
major city.
UNESCO declared the area of Machu
Picchu as a world heritage site since 1983,
and from day 7 July 2007 became part of
the New Wonders of the Modern World.
Chichén Itzá
It has an acoustic effect that was discovered
of chance. At the end of the 20th century,
when the tourism was increased in the zone,
the guides realized that if a person applauds
of frontal form to the perron, the sound of
the plaudit propagates about the beginning
of the steps and bounces forming a
distorted echo. That is to say, the same
plaudit returns in the shape of shriek.
Chichén Itzá has owner.The family
Barbachano, owners of the company
Mayaland, they bought the area when the
place still was not of public interest. After
years of resistance, the State ofYucatan
bought them him for approximately 220
million weight.
His name comes from the Mayan words:
"Chi" (mouth), "Che'en" (well), "Itz"
(magician or wizard) and "Há" (waters
down), on having joined the words there is
obtained the mouth of the well of the
wizards of the water. " In the shore of the
well of the water wizards ".
In this place one finds theTemple Kukulkán,
which has four perrons, of 91 steps each
one, that in total they add 364 and adding
the top platform they are 365.This because
every step was representing the days of the
Haab, Mayan calendar, which reconciles to
the perfection with the calendar that today
we use, the Gregorian one
In 1988 Holdings of the Humanity was
declared and in 2007 it was considered
between New7Wonders of the World.
What the whole world sees in the photos is
the pyramid Kukulcán, but indeed this place
conforms of more attractions, as the
Principal Esplanade, the Observatory, the
Cenote Sagrado, the Game of Ball and the
Temple ofThousand Column..
Petra
Petra is a city constructed in stone, or, the stones have
constructed Petra's city. Something that is inevitable is the
capacity of the man to live in any place. Adjustment they
would say many. His history is long. First, its valley had the
quality of being protected by facility by the invading forces
or, the expansionist ones. Many societies have passed for
these valleys, the majority they were nomadic.
Nevertheless, there was one that it remained a lot of time
in the Byzantine period, in the epoch nabatea. During a
long silence, this zone has remained secret.
Inside this city of stone also a Roman
Theatre is located by capacity for 3,000
persons. Since it is known, the Romans
invaded Jordan many centuries ago.
In its epoch of gold, near 20 thousand
managed to live through 30 thousand
persons there.
To come there, it is necessary to cross
Siq. It is a question as an alley of alone
2 meters of width surrounded by
colossal walls of mountain. On having
finished the paradise, the sensation of
seeing Petra is like to return to be born.
Petra means "stone", in Greek.
The drinkable water to the surroundings and
the safety of itswalls they did of Petra the
perfect oasis for the commercial caravans that
were crossing the desert.
Petra and Machu Picchu (other one of
New7Wonders of the World) are sisters from
an agreement signed in 2005.
The city also was working as religious, political
and cultural sanctuary.
