1. 500 Word Plot
A girl (Amy) is woken in the middle of a field by her friend Adam and cannot remember how
she got there. Adam says she drank too much at a party so he came to find her and then walks
her home.
Amy wakes up the next morning and gets ready for college, all the while looking at pictures
around her room of her and her friends, one of whom is called Katie. When Amy arrives at
college people ask her where Katie is, and Amy is confused because she remembers she
hasn‟t seen her since at least the day before. Throughout the day Amy tries to call Katie and
after a few failed attempts the phone is answered and all that can be heard is Katie saying
“help me”. Amy panics and finds Adam who suggests they go to the place where he found
Amy the night before, as it might lead them to Katie.
Later on that evening Amy and Adam make their way to the spot and find nothing, but Amy
notices a house in the near distance with a light flashing in one of the windows and decides to
investigate, hoping it will lead them to Katie. As the two of them get closer to the house,
Adam becomes very nervous while Amy begins to get the feeling that the place is for some
reason familiar and when she enters the house she begins to have more vivid flashbacks and
feels as if she has definitely been there before. As they enter, Amy is drawn to one of the
rooms and with the flashbacks occurring more frequently, tries to figure out what is going on.
She suddenly notices Adam has disappeared so looks around the house for him. She enters
one room and notices Katie in the corner and rushes over to but finds her perfectly fine,
acting normal and calm. Adam enters the room shortly after and Amy tells them both that
they have to leave and attempts to explain about her flashbacks and that they are scaring her.
Adam blocks the door and says “I‟m so sorry, Amy” and all of a sudden The Cult appear
supernaturally and seize Amy, knocking her out.
When she comes round she is restrained and Katie begins to explain that her „going missing‟
was set up in order to lure Amy to the house, because her body is to be used as a host for an
evil spirit that The Cult worship. Katie goes on to explain that Amy was here the night before
but managed to escape before the ritual was carried out and that the reason she doesn‟t
remember is because when leaving the house her memories were wiped. She explains Adam
was very reluctantly forced to lead Amy back to the house or else The Cult would kill his
family. The Cult bring out the box where the spirit is kept and as Katie is about to transfer it
into Amy‟s body, Adam leaps in the way in a last attempt to protect Amy and the spirit
manifests his body instead. His body falls to the ground and contorts and The Cult let go of
Amy amidst all the commotion. She sees the pain in his eyes and as he mouths that he is
sorry, Amy realises the only way to spare him from the pain is to kill him. She grabs a knife
from the ritual and plunges it into his chest and a dark black liquid begins to seep out and an
explosion happens imminently.
As the spirit is destroyed, The Cult disappears and Amy is left cradling Adam‟s body with
Katie standing in the corner looking on. Amy is filled with rage and throws herself at Katie
who manages to escape into the woods. Amy goes back to Adam‟s body and sobs. The sound
of sirens can be heard in the background and the police raid the building, ultimately blaming
Amy for Adam‟s murder.
