  1. Melanie Healey was born on April 5, 1961 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She graduated from the University of Richmond, Virginia in 1983 with a B.S. degree in business administration. She is ranked #15 in the Fortune 2009 list of the “50 Most Powerful Women”
  2. She began her career at S.C. Johnson & Sons in Brazil working as the Assistant Brand Manager and Sales Training Manager. While there, she managed Raid Insecticides. She then became the Brand and Marketing Manager of Johnson & Johnson in Brazil. She managed a number of items including baby toiletries, cotton swabs, and sun-care products.
  3. On July 9 th 1990, Melanie Healey accepted a position at Proctor & Gamble in Brazil. //// She began her career at P&G working as a Phebo Soap Brand Manager and Pampers Marketing Manager. She was quickly promoted through the ranks of marketing positions and worked in Mexico, Brazil, and Venezuela.
  4. For those of you who aren’t familiar with this company… P&G is the world's largest consumer products company with 22 billion-dollar brands. Some of the most well recognized brands of Proctor & Gamble are: Head & Shoulders, Gillette, Tampax, Pringles, Duracell, and Tide.
  5. Then in 2001, Melanie Healey transferred to Cincinnati to serve as General Manager of Feminine Care. She was made Vice President that same year. In 2005 she became the first woman President of Proctor & Gamble’s Global Feminine Care GBU. In 2007, she became Group President of Global Feminine Care and Health Care.
  6. As Group President, she has helped Proctor & Gamble’s feminine and health care stock to increase by 17.5%, as well as increase sales and profit. She currently oversees 40% of Proctor & Gamble’s revenue, which is equivalent to an estimated $32 billion. She also manages 14,000 employees in 110 countries.
  7. Proctor & Gamble is a thriving Fortune 500 and multinational corporation that serves over 4 billion customers worldwide. The company’s products are distributed in North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Proctor & Gamble is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio and is currently under the supervision of President and CEO Robert McDonald. Proctor & Gamble has 135,000 full time employees.
  8. In order to be competitive, the massive corporation has divided itself into three global business units: Beauty, Health and Well-Being, and Household Care. For the fiscal year of 2009 Proctor & Gamble reached $79 billion in net sales.
  9. Melanie Healey is a classic choice for a P&G executive because of her experience with a direct competitor early in her career with a multi national corp.
