3. Climate-KIC
• Climate-KIC is Europe’s largest public-private
innovation partnership focused on climate change.
• Climate-KIC is one of three Knowledge and Innovation
Communities (KICs) created in 2010 by the European
Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).
• Climate-KIC integrates education, entrepreneurship and
innovation transforming ideas into economically viable
products or services that help to mitigate climate
change.

6. CleanLaunchpad

• CleanLaunchpad is Europe’s largest cleantech business idea
competition.
• It is run for the first time in 11 countries across Europe.
– The Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary, Germany, Spain, UK, Italy, Poland, Cyprus, Greece
and Denmark.
• The top-3 ideas of each country will enter the EU finals in
Valencia, Spain.
• The winner of the EU final receives €10,000, the runner up
gets €5,000 and the idea that comes in third place wins €2,500.
• All three winners get accepted into the Climate-KIC Accelerator
(€95,000 and 18months incubation).

• Eligibility criteria:
– You have not yet started a business or you have been a
start-up for less than two years.
– You have no grants or investments above €200,000.
– You have no substantial revenue.

• The CleanLaunchpad in Cyprus and Greece is run by
Chrysalis LEAP (www.chrysalisleap.com).
• Chrysalis LEAP is the first accelerator in Cyprus with a
vision to promote growth in the field of sustainable
development by providing a platform for fresh ideas to
grow, be supported, and get implemented.
• Chrysalis LEAP was formed in 2012 and run the first
acceleration program in 2013 with the sponsorship of EY.
• Behind Chrysalis LEAP, a dynamic team of six
professionals, of diverse backgrounds, with solid expertise,
strong networks and reach, all passionate to help people
excel.

• Registration opens: May 19, 2014
• Deadline for Applications: August 23, 2014
• Stage 1 - Boot Camp: September 13-14, 2014
– A two-day Boot Camp, where business coaches (all experienced
entrepreneurs with impressive track records) will teach you all they
know on how to jumpstart your business.
• Stage 2 - Intensive coaching and national finals
– A period of intensive coaching. You’ll perfect your pitch, value
proposition and business model.
• Stage 3 - National final in Nicosia: October 17, 2014
– You’ll pitch in front of your national jury. The top-3 will enter the EU
finals.
• Stage 4 - European final in Valencia: October 29-31, 2014
