CPD
Our group will be discussing to you what is CPD and we will also be tracing its history.
CONTINUING – A teacher is expected to continue developing after obtaining his/her professional license
PROFESSIONAL – When a teacher commits a mistake, he/she multiplies that mistake. So a PROFESSIONAL, therefore cannot afford to commit a mistake so a Professional needs to go through CPD
DEVELOPMENT – from the word itself education is a continuous process for our growth and development.
The lifeblood of the Teaching Profession – after passing the LET, the Professional Teacher possesses the minimum competencies expected of a profession teacher.
That’s why EVERY PROFESSIONAL TEACHER is EXPECTED to continue developing after obtaining that license.
CPD is important because it delivers benefits to the individual, their profession and the public.
CPD ensures your capabilities to keep pace with the current standards.
Anything that is alive grows or anything that grows is alive. So a teacher who is alive grows physically, psychologically, mentally, socially emotionally and spiritually.
No one is perfect and every professional is expected to continue developing.
Sec 23. The Board shall have the power, after due notice and hearing, to suspend or revoke the certificate of registration of any registrant, to reprimand or to cancel the temporary/special permit of a holder thereof who is exempt from registration
CODE OF ETHICS FOR PROFESSIONAL TEACHER serves as guide for teachers specifically to new teachers for them to exhibit proper behavior to the learning community at all times
