Facebook users can tag other people in photos they post to albums. Currently, tagged people can confirm or reject tags, but analyzing this issue using a 4-step method suggests photo tagging should be re-confirmed by the tagged person to protect privacy and uphold their rights, as automatic tagging could disrespect them if they are tagged without consenting. The long-term strategy would be to allow users to select global tagging preferences to control whether they can be tagged at all.
