3MUSIC
3music is one of the events that us, as youth
ambassadors has been part of. We was assigned
a job role during the two working days of this
event.
Saturday, 5th July – 3music preparation day
On Saturday, the Hoff team met the
professional workers of the 3music team, the
music co-ordinator, stage manager, the
director, the event manager and the rest of the
team behind the scenes. Rehearsals for the
3music final also took place on this day, and
everyone in the team had a meeting about the
whole schedule and finalising decisions and
plans for Sunday, 6th July.
Sunday, 6th of July – 3music Final.
My job: Assistant to the Director
My Experience to this event being the Assistant to the Director.
This event taught me a lot of things, and I have learnt a lot from it. It
really gave me an insight to what being a director would be like. John
Thompson, the Director of this event is the one who I worked with.
He gave me an insight to his job role, and I was quite impressed with
the work he’s done and I found it so interesting and I enjoyed working
with him and the rest of the team.
Being an Assistant to the Director, I had my own schedule of the
event, I also got the chance to organise the planning of the stage
design and to make sure everything is going well and on time.
I also got the chance to do some
paper work towards the event.
Organising a stage plan, making sure
all instruments, and equipment are
put into place.
Being a Director, from what John has
demonstrated had to talk to the
people involved in the event about the
event schedule and what he wants
them to do throughout the event. He
rehearsed with them and he made
sure they know the action plan.
During my work experience, I had
the opportunity to work with the
different equipment in the box.
Where the cameras, music, sound
audios, projections and other
things need checking if they are
working properly. I really enjoyed
working and learning at the same
time.
Other than working behind the
scenes of the event, I also got the
opportunity to work on stage, and to
shadow John’s work and planning of
the stage layout and also discussing
and making decisions with the stage
manager. I am so thankful that I got
this opportunity to work with
professionals and to learn a whole
new different experience in the Arts
Industry!
