• One-day classroom workshop (for up to 25 managers)
all about the performance conversation
• An immersive, interactive workshop exploring a year in
the life of two team members and the performance
challenges that your managers will manage
• Taught through participation, practise and reflection,
providing an excellent environment for self-directed
learning
• Tailored to your performance review / appraisal cycle
• Also available as a half-day virtual workshop for up to
12 managers
Managers will:
• engage with two fictional team members using video clips,
emails and other collateral
• explore behaviours and find out what happens as a minor
performance event turns into a major performance
challenge. Should I, (the manager) intervene? Would blame
help? What could I (the manager) do?
• practise skills and different approaches (setting expectations,
feedback, coaching, communication) to handle typical
situations. Apply the skills to the real situations ‘I face now’,
and explore how to improve performance and nip problems
in the bud
Managers need to:
• understand how to spot and deal with performance
issues early on before they become a major
challenge
• be able to set great objectives for themselves and
their teams, coach for high performance and use
regular 121s to deliver results in line with your
processes
• have structures, skills and confidence to effectively

Classroom Delivery
• Option A – 3 x 90 minute sessions per day (for
up to 40 delegates per session)
• Option B – 2 x 3-hour sessions per day and
includes additional large group tailored
exercises (for up to 40 delegates per session)
Virtual Delivery also available as 90-minute
sessions: 3 sessions per day for up to 25
delegates per session.
• Short scenes are tailored around your performance review
process, and performance conversations are played out by
experienced actors. The scenes are typically a humorous
and very recognisable take on what happens when things
go badly!
• Delegates can stop the action, make suggestions for
different behaviour on the part of either the manager or
the employee, and then experience the suggestions put into
practice by the actors
• Powerful learning occurs as delegates, in telling the actors
what to do, are in practice telling themselves how to
