1 . Ensure adequate rolling supply quantity of dusts masks, face covers, chin straps for active manpower.
1 . Ensure temporary facilities are properly secured to the ground e.g. smoke shelters, rest shelters, toilets, water
stations, sign boards, porta cabins, wind breakers, welding habitats, chemical temporary quarantine area,
including loose construction (light) materials, structures under construction, guy wires, etc.
1 . Ensure continued monitoring of weather forecast, alert site Team of predicted inclement weather e.g. wind
speed >20 Mph / wind storm.
1 . Ensure regular tidying up of light materials / trashes which can fly off / injure personnel during wind / sand
storm e.g. light timbers, GI sheets, etc.
1 . Ensure crane booms are to be racked down and / or secured at each end of shift and immediately at the
onset of a detected wind / sand storm. All crane operators are to be briefed of this protocol.
1 . Ensure regular watering of unpaved access roads / work areas.
1 . Ensure an onset of a detected / predicted wind storm / sand storm, Field Supervisors are to initiate
suspension of all elevated and outdoor activities including mobile equipment operations and instruct work
force to take safe refuge in door. Transport buses to be made available to transport work force off work areas
as soon as possible and before wind storm lands. It is strongly recommended that remote work areas are
provided with standby vehicles for this purpose. Medical Teams and ERTs to extend readiness during
windstorms for potential medical emergencies and post storm assistance.
1 . Ensure no erection of any structures should commence without proper planning and no structure under
construction to be left unattednded without having their required proper temporary supports completed
within the shift. No elements of any structure to be left overnight unsecured or partially secured e.g. purlins,
girders, GI sheets, plates, etc.
1 . Ensure Field supervisors / HSSE are to conduct site inspections immediately following wind storm to assess
impact and appropriate actions if any.
1 . Ensure are conducted by Supervisors to ensure awareness of workforce of above actions. Proper
documentations in place e.g. signed attendance sheets, specific TBT topics discussed.
