The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Local Pharmaceutical Committee's (LPC) Services sub-committee aims to identify new service and funding opportunities for community pharmacy practices through local commissioning and stakeholder engagement. Their services mini-strategy is represented as a house, with essential standards and defined workstreams forming the base and walls, and overall strategic ambitions as the roof. Key elements of the strategy include proactive networking, clear communication, collaboration on new services, reviewing progress, and supporting service delivery to optimize patient care, health outcomes, and value for both commissioners and providers.
Over recent years, acute hospital emergency care pathways have come under increasing pressure due to a variety of factors. The symptoms of this are often overcrowded A&E departments, overfull hospitals and sometimes a poor experience for patients and staff.
Supporting the NHS to tackle this is a priority for NHS IQ. We recognise that to do this requires a collaborative approach, to connect and work with partners from across the emergency care landscape to deliver targeted and tailored local support, along with large scale system-wide change in primary, community and secondary care.

A brief overview of the support aavailable in the General Practice Forward to help practices implement changes that will release time for care. Presenation to Lincolnshire LMC 25/05/17
This document discusses value-based care for home healthcare providers. It defines value-based care as outcomes that matter most to patients divided by the total cost of care. This framework helps healthcare providers collaborate to maximize value for patients over their entire care cycle by measuring outcomes and costs in order to iterate and improve over time. Key aspects of implementing value-based care for home health providers include organizing care around patient conditions, measuring outcomes and costs for each patient, enabling integrated technology, and moving to bundled payments for full care cycles.
The document discusses supporting innovation in respiratory care in the North West Coast region through partnerships between the NHS, academia, businesses, local authorities, and the third sector. It aims to improve health, drive down the cost of care, and stimulate economic growth by facilitating earlier detection and diagnosis of respiratory problems, improving uptake of pulmonary rehabilitation programs, and better supporting medication adherence. Specific initiatives mentioned include respiratory test-beds for COPD technologies, apps to support patients, and innovations around flu vaccines, continuity of care, and workforce flexibility.
The document discusses "core measures", which are evidence-based guidelines established by CMS and the Joint Commission for treating patients with certain diagnoses. The core measure patient groups include CHF, pneumonia, AMI, surgical care improvement, psychiatry, and patient satisfaction. Hospitals must follow specific treatment protocols for these patients and are audited to ensure compliance. Identifying core measure patients early and using established protocols and tools is key to improving outcomes and quality measures.
Spirit Healthcare is a UK-based healthcare organization that aims to deliver real value in healthcare by empowering people, making best use of resources, and utilizing new technology. It has several divisions that provide different services, including selling products/services to healthcare organizations, developing digital platforms to help patients manage conditions, and delivering clinical services directly to the NHS. The document provides details on Spirit Access, which supports industry partners by analyzing patient pathways, conducting health economic analyses, and helping implement changes to demonstrate value for various brands.
Physicians are interested in adopting digital clinical tools if they:
1) Improve practice efficiency, increase patient safety, and enhance diagnostic ability.
2) Fit within existing systems and workflows.
3) Address concerns around data privacy, liability coverage, and reimbursement.
Physicians want to be involved in adoption decisions but also look to IT experts and practice leaders for guidance. Younger physicians see potential for tools to reduce burnout and strengthen patient relationships.

Health Enterprise East is an NHS innovation hub that helps NHS organizations and small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) innovate through services like assessing NHS innovation disclosures, granting commercial licenses, running innovation competitions, and supporting technology projects. It also operates an Innovation Scout Network of over 100 NHS staff across 50 organizations to identify, assess, and promote new innovations. The document discusses drivers of change in medicine like new treatments and technologies. It introduces SBRI Healthcare, a NHS England initiative that funds companies to develop solutions to unmet healthcare needs, and provides two case studies of companies that developed new digital health technologies through SBRI funding.
Telehealth Saviour or Grim Reaper by Martina Stanley @ Alecto ConsultingMarc Straessle
This document discusses the history and impact of telehealth in Australia. It provides a brief history of past telehealth projects that failed due to lack of technology, funding, and patient uptake. The coronavirus pandemic has led to a rapid adoption of telehealth, with the government now funding all telehealth consultations until September. This has saved the government money while allowing healthcare to continue. The document examines the impact on general practices, with practices seeing a 30-50% drop in revenue but being able to continue operating through telehealth. It considers whether telehealth could be a "savior" through increased access and convenience, or a "grim reaper" by diminishing relationships and traditional practice models. The future of telehealth will depend

●ECG is a graphic record of the electrical activity of the heart.
●Electrical activity precedes the mechanical activity of the heart.
●Electrical activity has two phases:
Depolarization- contraction of muscle
Repolarization- relaxation of muscle

Waves of ECG:
P Wave
•P Wave is a positive wave and the first wave in ECG.
•It is also called as atrial complex.
Cause: Atrial depolarisation
Duration: 0.1 sec
QRS Complex:
•QRS’ complex is also called the initial ventricular complex.
•‘Q’ wave is a small negative wave. It is continued as the tall ‘R’ wave, which is a positive wave.
‘R’ wave is followed by a small negative wave, the ‘S’ wave.
Cause:Ventricular depolarization and atrial repolarization
Duration: 0.08- 0.10 sec
T Wave:
•‘T’ wave is the final ventricular complex and is a positive wave.
Cause:Ventricular repolarization Duration: 0.2 sec
Intervals and Segments of ECG:
P-R Interval:
•‘P-R’ interval is the interval
between the onset of ‘P’wave and onset of ‘Q’ wave.
•‘P-R’ interval cause atrial depolarization and conduction of impulses through AV node.
Duration:0.18 (0.12 to 0.2) sec
Q-T Interval:
•‘Q-T’ interval is the interval between the onset of ‘Q’
