The Nuclear Biological Chemical Reconnaissance Vehicle (NBCRV) is a Stryker vehicle configuration that performs nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) reconnaissance on the battlefield. It locates, identifies, marks, samples, and reports NBC contamination through a variety of detection mechanisms, including a mass spectrometer, chemical agent detector, biological-sampling equipment, and radiac set. The NBCRV automatically integrates contamination information from its detectors and provides reports and sample collection through the vehicle's command and control equipment. The program was approved in December 2011 and involves technology development, operations and support, production and deployment, engineering and manufacturing development, and maintenance activities.
