What is this competition about?
We invite Youth around the world to take part in the 2021 UNESCO Worldwide
Multimedia Competition. Think creatively, and answer the question,
2021 Question: Covid-19 has tested human solidarity like nothing before.
Based on your research, knowledge and experience, develop and submit, a
Multimedia proposal/project that describes the lessons we have learned and
how those lessons will shape our future. For example, our future in education,
employment, development, or social aspects. "
Youth were encouraged to respond by making a 3-minute video, multimedia
presentation, written essay, art work or using any method that channels their specific
passion and talent to share their answer to the question.

Our Goals
• Encourage young minds to think about important issues facing our world today.
• Inspire youth to answer the question using their talents, creative thinking and
problem solving skills.
• Bridge generations in the ideas, development and implementation of positive change.
• To facilitate collaboration and team work with project
development and implementation.
• To strengthen the mission and goals of UNESCO including
peace and international goodwill.

Why is it important?
Youth are in one of, if not the, greatest
positions to effect change in the world. They
have the greatest connection with their own
generations.
It is important to empower youth to
purposefully use their talents to serve others
and to ensure positive impact of their works
throughout their life. We wanted to create
opportunity for youth to share their voice
and turn ideas into action.

Timeline of the Contest
• The contest starts February 21, 2021 and the final deadline is May 31, 2021. Judging will take
place and final winners will be announced July 1 2021
• The competition was shared through news, websites, social media and networks.
• The competition was split into three age groups. Juniors - ages 10-14; Youth - ages 15-19; and
Young Adult - ages 20-24
• All judging was done online, being sensitive to schedules, time zones and cultures.
