Promoting Multidisciplinary Collaboration for Social Innovation Across
Institutions
Operating across traditional silos is often a trademark of social innovation on campuses, highlighting
the importance of teamwork, collaboration of expertise, & administrative support. Attendees will
learn how faculty & staff who have traversed traditional boundaries within higher education, reflect
on the results of their collaborations, & on how strong multidisciplinary collaborations can be
implemented at other institutions.
LEARNING OUTCOMES: At the end of the session, attendees will be able to:
- Identify 2-3 opportunities to bridge traditional siloes
- Identify 2-3 others they should speak with at their institution
- Understand how to speak with others about multi-disciplinary collaboration

How many people should we expect in our session?
You can expect anywhere from 30 – 50 participants in your session depending on
the date, time and topic.
What A/V will be available?
All rooms will be pre-set with a projector and screen.We will not be able to provide
additional A/V.We also cannot guarantee a computer or internet.
Can we use videos in our presentation?
Videos make for a fun and dynamic tool for sessions, but we cannot guarantee the
quality of the internet and the ability to seamlessly stream content without technical
issues.
What is the room set-up?
Majority of the rooms will be set up with round tables for 8-10. Please contact Emily if
you have specific requests.
