Did you know that most migration projects run over budget or, even worse, fail? This webinar discusses the potential problems and how to address them.
The ability to mass move content is relatively straight forward but, from an information governance view, simply moving documents from one repository is not enough. Content that was unmanaged will remain unmanaged, continuing to expose organizations to risk.
Understand the sophisticated techniques needed to ensure compliance and records management objectives are met, during the migration process:
• The difference between migration and intelligent migration, and why it matters
• How intelligent migration facilitates the entire migration process
• Why compliance and governance go hand in hand with intelligent migration
• What content optimization is, and why is it a critical component of intelligent migration
• Why intelligent migration dramatically improves search
Speakers:
Michael Paye – Chief Technology Officer at Concept Searching
Robert Piddocke – Vice President of Channel and Business Development

[AIIM16] Content Whack-A-Mole: Keeping up Compliance across Multiple Reposito...AIIM International
AIIM16 presentation by: Michyle LaPedis, Program Manager, Enterprise Records & Information Management and Jordan Jones, Senior Manager Cisco Content Services, Cisco Systems, Inc.
This insightful webinar discusses the pros and cons of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and Content Lifecycle Management (CLM).
We explore the content management revolution and why using metadata as the core infrastructure will accomplish effective CLM and overcome the current boundaries of ECM operation.
Much ado about nothing? There is a difference between these solutions, and your organization should be ready to leverage your technology investment.
What you will take away:
• The difference between ECM and CLM, and why it matters • How does CLM address compliance, governance, and records management?
• How and why you should set up CLM as an infrastructure framework • How to remove end users from the process of content management, to eliminate errors and rework • What does the digital workplace have to do with anything?
• Why an open connector framework is no longer a nice-to-have, but a must-have
Presented at SharePoint TechFest 2015 in Dallas, Texas. This deck explains what ECM is and then dives deeper into the capture portion to better understand the process of gathering requirements from customers. This allows us to create a better ECM solution for them.
That latter portion of the deck also briefly goes into governance and enhanced ECM features expected out of SharePoint 2016.

KMWorld - The Future of Enterprise Content Management (ECM)Nuxeo
The information management market has grown from document management, through enterprise content management to content services platforms - and more change is sure to come.
“A survey of corporate CIOs and general counsels found that, typically, 69% of the data most organizations keep can – and should – be deleted.”
Compliance, Governance and Oversight Counsel (CGOC) Summit
So what happens to the 69%? Most likely it will get migrated with no rhyme or reason. Just because it seems easier. And the organization is still left with mismanaged, useless information. That’s only one migration scenario. Migrations can be fraught with delays, budget overruns, and overall frustration. Register for this practical and informative webinar on March 25th, sponsored by Portal Solutions and Concept Searching and learn how you can eliminate migration challenges and reach the pinnacle of success.
What you will take away:
• Learn from Portal Solutions, an industry recognized SharePoint firm, the best practices and processes to approach migration
• Understand the key challenges that need to be overcome before migration
• Obtain buy-in and build the business case on why migration adds value and does not just move content from one place to another
• Take away a clear vision of the steps involved during migration and the phases to be accomplished
• Hear about Intelligent Migration technologies using conceptClassifier for SharePoint
• See how the technology is a key component in a migration solution
• Find the ROI of using one set of technologies to facilitate the migration process, and deploy metadata enabled solutions for search, content management, data protection, records management, and any application that uses metadata.

SharePoint and Office 365 State of the Market Survey Results WebinarConcept Searching, Inc
This engaging and thought-provoking bird’s-eye view of projects your SharePoint and Office 365 colleagues are working on, their priorities and future initiatives, and what’s been put on the back burner.
What did the survey respondents tell us?
• Hybrid search is perceived as a nice-to-have feature, but not something organizations will be using to address their priority of improving search.
• Collaboration is this year’s must-have, while text analytics and social business applications are at the bottom of the priority list.
• Enterprise search and content lifecycle management have become high priorities, yet 91% of organizations still perform manual tagging.
• Critical business applications, such as records management, enterprise metadata management, eDiscovery, and security, are most often managed on-premises.
• Security is still the primary concern, but its importance has decreased from 59% last year to 40% this year.

Good data is like good water: best served fresh, and ideally well-filtered. Data Management strategies can produce tremendous procedural improvements and increased profit margins across the board, but only if the data being managed is of high quality. Determining how Data Quality should be engineered provides a useful framework for utilizing Data Quality management effectively in support of business strategy. This, in turn, allows for speedy identification of business problems, delineation between structural and practice-oriented defects in Data Management, and proactive prevention of future issues. Organizations must realize what it means to utilize Data Quality engineering in support of business strategy. This webinar will illustrate how organizations with chronic business challenges can often trace the root of the problem to poor Data Quality. Showing how Data Quality should be engineered provides a useful framework in which to develop an effective approach. This in turn allows organizations to more quickly identify business problems as well as data problems caused by structural issues versus practice-oriented defects and prevent these from reoccurring.
Learning objectives:
-Help you understand foundational Data Quality concepts for improving Data Quality at your organization
-Demonstrate how chronic business challenges for organizations are often rooted in poor Data Quality
-Share case studies illustrating the hallmarks and benefits of Data Quality success

We have over the last few years seen a growing debate about this from end-users (like BP), vendors and analysts (like Gartner and Forrester)…
One example;
Deb Logan and Regina Casonata from Gartner published around 6 months ago a report called “CIO Alert: You Need Information Professionals”
I quote:
“Professional roles focused on information management will be different to that of established IT roles….
An "information professional" will not be one type of role or skill set, but will in fact have a number of specializations.”
This profession needs a body of knowledge - what do they need to know about mobile apps, taxonomies, folksonomies, social networking, master data management, etc.
We also saw a need to certify understanding that allows individuals to demonstrate their ability to solve an organization's existing information-related problems as well as plan for the future.
And what is the feedback so far….
"Anyone in IT or in an information related discipline today should be thinking about it."
Ken Bisconti (Vice President, Enterprise Content Management Products and Strategy, IBM Software Group)
“Every information management professional and information architect should become a Certified Information Professional.”
J. Kevin Parker (SharePoint SME)
“The Certified Information Professional certification is the best way to move your organization to the modern world!”
Catherine Webber (President, Smart Government)
“The AIIM Information Certification clearly connects all aspects of content, people, data and processes.”
Vikram Setia (Managing Partner, infoMENTUM Limited)
We did a survey in early 2011 amongst 1450+ industry experts to kick-off the development of the new certification.
The survey respondents were asked to prioritize the knowledge areas identified by the Forrester report “A Snapshot Of Today’s Content And Collaboration Professional,” November 3, 2010.
The skills analysis was done by SMEs in multiple workshops
Development was done according to ISO17024 - an ISO standard for how to certify professionals
