Concours
d’Elegance
relocated
several
years
ago
to
the
Inn
at
St.
John’s
in
Plymouth,
Michigan,

than
15
miles
from
Detroit’s
metro
airport.
The
weekend
includes
a
driving
tour
on
Friday,
an
auc?ons
sale,
an
automo?ve
design
seminar
and
a
weekend
gala
on
Saturday,
all
culmina?ng

the
Concours
d’Elegance
of
America
on
Sunday.
The
show’s
tradi?on
is
showing
classic
and
rare
automobiles,
and
this
year’s
collec?on
will
range
from
pre-­‐war
classics
of
the
Jazz
Age

racing

GT40

famous
Pebble
Beach
Concours
d’Elegance
is
part
of
the
annual
Monterey
Car
Week,
and
some
of
the
richest
auto
lovers
in
the
world
come
to
Carmel,
California,
to
pay
their
respects
to
some
of
the
most
fabulous
and
rarest
cars
in
the
world.
Though
it
started
as
a
small
social
event
with
a
road
race,
the
Pebble
Beach
Concours
is
now
the
world’s
top-­‐ranking
collector
car
compe??on.
This
year’s
marques
and
special
classes
include
the
Delahaye,
the
50th
anniversary
of
the
Ford
GT40
Victory
at
Le
Mans,
the
BMW
Centennial
and
the
Bizzarrini,

6. More
than
40,000
muscle
cars,
hot
rods,
street
rods
and
special-­‐
interest
cars
come
to
Detroit’s
Woodward
Avenue
each
year
for
the
world’s
largest
one-­‐day
classic
car
event.
The
Cruise
has
its
origins
in
the
mid-­‐19th
century,
when
carriage
drivers
would
race
along
the
same
city
street
where
the
event
is
now
held.
Many
of
the
cars
on
display
are
pre-­‐OPEC
embargo
American
cars
from
the
1950s,
’60s
and
’70s.

all
models
whose
owners
have
