- 38. 38 PRESIDENT’SPRESIDENT’S WELCOMEWELCOME On behalfof Garnock Rugby Club I would like to welcome you to Lochshore for season 2016-2017. This season we have a new coach in Gavin Blackburn. He is also our Director of Rugby at school level so will be working with our school kids and junior teams right up to our senior teams. Our junior section continues to grow year on year. Garnock Rugby Club as a whole invest in our junior section as we believe this is the future of our club with as many as 140 kids down playing rugby at Lochshore some Sundays. I’m sure you’ll agree Lochshore is a cracking venue with special thanks to Jim Hood for keeping our pitches in great condition. Hopefully sooner rather than later we will have a new clubhouse. Rest assured we are working hard behind the scenes to get this. We would like to invite you to Eglinton Inn, Beith after the game for some refreshments and to enjoy some conversation about the game. Remember that although young people play organised sports they are not miniature International Rugby players. 2. Be on your best behaviour. Don’t use profane language or harass players, coaches or referees. 3. Applaud good play by the visiting team as well as your own. 4. Show respect for your team’s opponents. Without them there would be no match. 5. Condemn the use of violence in all forms. 6. Verbal abuse of players or referees cannot be accepted in any shape or form. Players and referees are not fair targets for your ignorant behaviour.
