- 36. 36 PRESIDENT’SPRESIDENT’S WELCOMEWELCOME On behalfof Garnock Rugby Club I extend a very warm welcome to Lochshore for season 2015 – 2016. Last season was a challenge for our young team and for our new coaching staff. We succeeded in fighting our way out of the relegation zone with a very spirited finish to the season. Our aim is to learn from last season as club and look to develop the many positives from last season. We will continue with the core of the team from last season and as a club we believe that it is right to develop our own players from the local community. A key aim for Garnock Rugby Club is to re-establish rugby at Garnock Academy and we have made a significant impact over the past 2 years in doing so. Our Garnock Rugby Club Development Officer, Gavin Blackburn now runs a very successful School Of Rugby model over 3 academic years. This is in addition to the work being undertaken in the 7 feeder primary schools in the Garnock Valley. As a result our junior section continues to grow which we believe will produce some stars of the future for this club. The re-development of facilities at Lochshore continues to progress with Lochshore Community Association, who are working with North Ayrshire Council to secure an Asset Transfer of land to build a facility at Lochshore. This will supplement the facilities being developed at the new Garnock Academy site. We would also like to invite you to the Eglinton Inn Beith after the game for some refreshments and to enjoy some conversation about the game. We hope you enjoy your visit to Lochshore and ask that you adhere to our code of conduct. Billy Walker President Garnock Rugby Club CODE FOR SPECTATORS 1. Remember that although young people play organised sports they are not miniature International Rugby players. 2. Be on your best behaviour. Don’t use profane language or harass players, coaches or referees. 3. Applaud good play by the visiting team as well as your own. 4. Show respect for your team’s opponents. Without them there would be no match. 5. Condemn the use of violence in all forms. 6. Verbal abuse of players or referees cannot be accepted in any shape or form. Players and referees are not fair targets for your ignorant behaviour.
